21.01.2022 This is something I’ve never seen before!

17.01.2022 Today one of my djembes decided it wanted to be a banana and split... halfway through undoing the rope and a new skin ordered, Ive never re-skinned one before so its time for a new challenge!

11.01.2022 I’ve always been a big believer that you should be able to maintain your own equipment. Last time I needed to get djembe skins replaced I took them to Bondi, but this time (with only one to do) I took the time to learn how to do it myself. I spent most of the day working with a synthetic drum shell, around 16m of nylon rope, and some goat skin. Now, I have a drum that will finish drying over night so I can tune it and trim off the last of any excess skin tomorrow. It’s always a good feeling when you learn to do something new. If you want to try something new, book in now for your free trial lesson!

07.01.2022 Today was my first day in a Music Education degree to improve my ability to teach music and as my next step towards teaching classroom music. Its fairly daunting but Im excited about all the new things Im going to learn.

06.01.2022 Ive been very quiet over the last month while recovering from foot surgery, but Im back teaching from my studio! There are plenty of times available so if you are interested in learning drums just send through a message to book in your free trial lesson

05.01.2022 The old skin is well and truly done, the new skin is just about ready to go on! Exciting times expanding my repertoire of drum maintenance by getting a raw skin to replace the synthetic one that came with the drum. If youre interested in learning to play some djembe or drum kit, send a message through to book your free trial lesson

04.01.2022 School holidays are coming up and there are plenty of times available to book in for a free 30 minute trial lesson, so why wait?! Still cant walk or drive, but who says that you need to walk before you can drum? (Only for short periods of time though) I was practicing a bit today to make sure that I dont get too rusty while my foots recovering, and I had heaps of fun playing around with this beat. Ill put the written version in the comments if youre keen to try it out too
