23.01.2022 The West Gate Tunnel project has been a debacle from beginning to end. It’s been a special deal for Labor’s mates. It is wildly late, with time slipping furth...er. Motorists are paying each and every day on CityLink roads for a tunnel that is not even built and they may never use. Here is a quick snapshot of some of the project issues: 29 April 2014 - Daniel Andrews says the West Gate Distributor is shovel-ready. A real, tangible, shovel-ready project, not a fantasy, not a line on a piece of paper, not a project with no start date, no end date, no budget, not a fantasy project ... but a shovel-ready $500 million important piece of capital works." 13 September 2014 - "This project will be delivered before the end of the first term of an incoming Labor government ... by 2018." 8 December 2015 - After the election, the completion date gets pushed back four years. Construction on the Western Distributor begins in early 2018, and the full project will be completed by 2022. 7 July 2017 - Transport expert William McDougall tells the Senate Inquiry that aspects of the West Gate Tunnel business case were a methodological ‘fudge’ and he considered them a deliberate distortion and misrepresentation of traffic forecasts and the economic benefits. 31 May 2018 - Premier Daniel Andrews travels to China to visit the construction of the boring machines to be used on the West Gate Tunnel by the Chinese Government owned builders. 21 March 2019 The Australian reveals Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas holds shares in Transurban at the time of signing the deal. Transurban stands to make $37.3 billion in extra tolls from motorists in exchange for investing just $4bn in the West Gate Tunnel. 10 July 2020 - Labor tears up environmental protections to pave the way for West Gate Tunnel toxic soil dumping into Melbourne's west and north. 22 September 2020 - Already at $6 billion, leaked documents from Daniel Andrews’ Cabinet reveal a further $3 billion cost blowout. 30 March 2021 - Reports from the Andrews Government that further timeline blowouts have been identified, pushing the project back even further - ten years after Daniel Andrews said the project was "shovel ready".

19.01.2022 Later today, the Victorian Parliament will debate and vote on a No Confidence motion in Premier Daniel Andrews and the Victorian Labor Government. It is the first step needed to dissolve the Parliament and allow Victorians to vote the toxic Andrews Labor Government out of office. The no-confidence motion follows a number of failures, cover-ups and lies by Daniel Andrews and his Labor Government including:... the avoidable deaths of nearly 800 Victorians due to Labor’s second wave of COVID-19, the botched hotel quarantine program that caused the second wave, including refusing to accept ADF support, lying to a Parliamentary committee claiming ADF support was never offered to Victoria for hotel quarantine when it had been, contact tracing failures which have prolonged Victoria’s second wave, the cuts made to the public health team, making them the nation’s least resourced heading into the pandemic, imposing an arbitrary and potentially illegal curfew without the advice of the CHO, causing the closure of thousands of businesses and the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs, public housing lockdown and effects on multicultural communities, failure to properly protect frontline healthcare workers with appropriate PPE, mental health effects on Victorians, and particularly young Victorians, the handling of the Cedar Meats cluster, lying about virus modelling supporting the harsh restrictions imposed on Victorians, green-lighting the Black Lives Matter protest in Melbourne’s CBD where 10,000 protesters broke health rules without fines, setting virus suppression targets that world-leading scientists say are unduly onerous, risking Victorian and Australian sovereignty through Belt and Road, dragging Victoria’s major infrastructure projects over-time and over-budget with the state entering recession prior to the pandemic, and; disrupting the education of all Victorian students. Victoria is now suffering death and damage not due to bad luck, but due to the bad decisions and incompetence of the Andrews Labor Government. A no-confidence motion will require every MP in the Legislative Assembly to decide whether this Premier deserves to continue in office. We are now encouraging all Victorians to make just one phone call, to their local Labor MP, to support the No Confidence motion later today against Daniel Andrews and Labor.
