24.01.2022 Good luck to all the Year 12 students across Australia, many who begin their final exams starting this week. It's been a tough year with #COVID19 but I'm sure t...he additional challenges of 2020 have made you more resilient, stronger and more adaptable. Keep pushing on and all the best for your exams and beyond.

24.01.2022 Here's hoping for some fun in the pool these summer holidays. Make sure your pool, spa and safety barriers are correctly maintained and children are supervised at all times. You can find your pool safety obligations at www.vba.vic.gov.au/consumers/swimming-pools.

24.01.2022 Helping Australians get into a home of their own.

24.01.2022 Now is the time to give Victorians their freedom back & allow businesses to reopen in a COVIDsafe way. Victoria’s effective unemployment rate is 14% compared to... 7.5% in NSW. It’s time to get people back into jobs & back to work. My OpEd in Herald Sun

23.01.2022 As Victorians commence their Easter holidays, Good Friday is a day to reflect. A day to consider the past, then look to the future. It's also a great day to get involved with the Good Friday Appeal, raising funds for The Royal Children's Hospital, who's hard work impacts many Australian's every year.

22.01.2022 Daylight savings is officially over as of 3am tomorrow morning, Sunday April 4. Be sure to wind back your clocks by 1 hour!

21.01.2022 Victoria should be the best place to live, to work, to grow up and to grow old. But right now, our COVID recovery is stalling, and many Victorians are being left behind. I truly believe politics should be a contest of ideas and that’s why I will continue to put forward new ideas to take Victoria forward and to make a real difference to your life, and to the lives of those you care about. ... Because you deserve a competent and courageous government, and one that you can trust. You can find out more about my positive plans for Victoria, including our Back to Work economic recovery plan, and our Zero to Landfill environmental plan here: https://www.michaelobrien.com.au/our-plan/

21.01.2022 Victorians have No Confidence in Daniel Andrews and the Labor government. The vote of no confidence will be debated and voted on in parliament today and the Liberal Nationals will be standing up for Victorians. Daniel Andrews and Labor's mistakes, cover-ups and lies have resulted in death and destruction. He must be stopped!... Add your name to the list of Victorians who have No Confidence in Daniel Andrews and Labor. www.noconfidence.com.au

21.01.2022 Christ is risen. Stay safe and enjoy your time with family and friends.

20.01.2022 Watch as Suzi, Sam, Spencer, Scott, Tom, Dominic and Angie join the tens of thousands of Victorians who have No Confidence in Daniel Andrews and this shambolic Labor Government. Victorians have been lied to, let down and locked up for too long. There are too many people suffering because Labor has let us down.... Enough is enough. It’s time to take a stand. That’s why when State Parliament returns, the Liberal Nationals will be voting No Confidence in Daniel Andrews and Labor. Join us and pledge No Confidence in Andrews and Labor here: www.noconfidence.com.au #NoConfidenceLabor

20.01.2022 The Premier needs to give Victorians their freedom back this Sunday. It’s time for businesses to reopen in a COVIDsafe way. The lockdown has had devastating consequences for the mental health of Victorians & the local economy.

20.01.2022 Dame Margaret Guilfoyle AC DBE, a deeply cherished and respected pillar of the Liberal Party family. You have enriched our lives and will be sadly missed.

19.01.2022 It is time to get Victoria Back to Work and Back in Business.

19.01.2022 Today’s budget failed to focus on getting Victorians back to work. The government admits unemployment will remain above the national average for years. That’s n...ot good enough. And they’ve hidden their cost overruns by removing one of the budget papers. Again, that’s not good enough. This is the video from Victorian Liberal Leader - Michael O'Brien MP and my media conference today.

19.01.2022 Chop in is when a farmer is forced to destroy a healthy crop and put it back into the ground instead of harvesting it. Very sadly, after battling drought and... fire, many farmers across Victoria are unable to benefit from the great season we’ve had because they can’t get labour in to harvest. South Pacific workers have supplemented local labour for years but they’ve been blocked due to the Victorian Labor Government’s mishandling. This is the case for Kane Busch in the Lindenow Valley, Gippsland who has just been forced to destroy or chop in $150k worth of premium celery, because he can’t get his workers back into Victoria. If the State Government set fire to $150k in the middle of Melbourne, people would be outraged. To support our Victorian farmers and home grown produce we need urgent action from the Andrews Labor Government to stop blocking the return of seasonal workers so that more crops don’t have to be left to rot. (And if you’re interested in the Liberal Nationals’ ideas to boost jobs, agriculture and our economy to get Victoria back to work, check out Vlbr.al/BackToWork ) WIth Danny O'Brien MP

18.01.2022 Pleased to visit the Cotton On distribution centre in Avalon with Senator Sarah Henderson to see how this Australian success story has graduated from #JobKeeper and is investing in its business to create more jobs.

17.01.2022 Today’s Labor State Budget has failed to address Victoria’s jobs crisis and deliver immediate jobs. Under Labor, the majority of those without a job today are likely to remain without one for at least three years. The New South Wales budget delivered double the tax relief, which is what states can do when their governments haven’t blown the budget. Women have largely missed out with just 6,000 of the 146,500 women unemployed receiving any direct assistance. ... The budget confirms the Andrews Labor Government has no plan to address our biggest jobs crisis in a generation. With all the spending, debt and waste there are still not enough jobs to get those Victorians who have lost their jobs back to work. Only the Liberal Nationals have a positive plan to get Victoria back to work and back in business.

16.01.2022 With Victorian case numbers in low single digits, it’s time for small businesses to reopen in a COVIDsafe way - creating jobs & getting Victorians back to work. Every day of the lockdown, 1000+ jobs in Victoria have on average been lost.

14.01.2022 There are lots of cars on the road this year. Keep yourself, your family and all of us safe by following the road rules.

14.01.2022 #LIVE: Securing Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities.

13.01.2022 A big day at the #Geelong waterfront with the installation of a gangway, the final piece of the incredible wave attenuator, a key part of our $382 million #Geel...ongCityDeal. Australia’s largest floating pontoon will not only provide safe harbour to visiting yachts and boats but will be a big tourism drawcard. Walking out over Corio Bay is a wonderful experience. So proud of this project to which the Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Govt is providing $5.5 million. Alan Tudge MP Royal Geelong Yacht Club

12.01.2022 Victoria is one of the most prone areas in the world for bushfires. A total fire ban is currently in place for most of the State. To be bushfire ready you need to plan and prepare. Make a start by learning the fire danger ratings and know what are your triggers to take action.... Visit www.vic.gov.au/plan-and-prepare to start planning and preparing for this bushfire season.

12.01.2022 To all Victorians and our interstate mates, Happy New Year! 2021 won't come without it's challenges but the strength and resilience shown over the last year means we can look to the future with confidence and hope. Bring on 2021!

12.01.2022 Victoria, what do you think of the 5km rule?

12.01.2022 Victoria, this win is yours!

11.01.2022 LIVE: Press conference from Parliament House, Canberra.

10.01.2022 The Victorian people have been magnificent. The sacrifice, dedication & hard-work of more than 6 million Victorians in driving down #COVID19 case numbers is their victory. The Morrison Government will continue to support Victorians as we get to the other side.

10.01.2022 Small businesses are the biggest employers in Victoria. Small businesses also support our local communities by sponsoring sporting clubs, social and community clubs with vouchers, donations and more. That’s why our #BackToWork plan is calling for greater support for small business so they can continue to be the engine room of our state’s economy. Our plan calls for small businesses and sole traders to benefit from: ... discounted local government rates and permit fees, WorkCover premium relief, raising the payroll tax threshold to $10m until mid-2022 in Melbourne, & waiving payroll tax entirely for regional small businesses until mid-2022. Stronger and better supported small businesses are part of our plan to get Victoria #BackToWork. Read our full plan at www.michaelobrien.com.au

08.01.2022 Tonight I had another productive discussion with leaders from Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Israel and Norway on our fight against #COVID19. It ...was timely to review the challenges we face in the months ahead, especially around the vaccine rollout and the emergence of new strains. Particularly good to hear from Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Norway on their vaccine rollout. These meetings continue to be incredibly important to share experiences and swap notes on the challenges of responding to this terrible virus and how we can work together to beat it and prepare for the next pandemic. Thank you Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz for hosting what was another invaluable meeting.

04.01.2022 Our #BackToWork plan calls for measures to improve housing affordability across Melbourne and make it easier to buy a new home by: releasing new land for housing developments, working with the Federal Government to extend the HomeBuilder scheme to more Victorians, and working with industry to deliver 50,000 new homes under Build to Rent projects. ... 10% of these Build to Rent projects would be provided as public housing, helping those who need a permanent home to access one sooner. Improving housing affordability to support people to secure their own home is part of our plan to get Victoria #BackToWork. Read our full plan here https://bit.ly/2JChrHD.

04.01.2022 My message to the Premier of Victoria, today and every day, is please understand the significant impact the harsh lockdown is having on the mental health of Victorians. The Morrison Government will continue to do everything we can to support Victorians.

03.01.2022 In 1944, 76 years ago today, the Liberal Party of Australia was founded after a three-day meeting held in a small hall not far from Parliament House in Canberra. The meeting was called by the then Leader of the Opposition (United Australia Party) Robert Menzies. Robert Menzies had already served as Prime Minister of Australia (1939-41), but he believed that the non-Labor parties should unite to present a strong alternative government to the Australian people. Eighty men and w...omen from 18 non-Labor political parties and organisations attended the first Canberra conference. They shared a common belief that Australians should have greater personal freedom and choice than that offered under Labor’s post-war socialist plans. Robert Menzies believed the time was right for a new political force in Australia - one which fought for the freedom of the individual and produced enlightened liberal policies.
