Consider your climate do you want a gentler air flow because the humidity is low and you need a subtle breeze? Or do you need a more powerful fan which is fast cooling for more humid temperatures. 5. Location Fans are more effective if placed around areas where you will actually be e.g near the bed, on the couch, in the dining room consider the airflow of the room. Remote controlled fans are more convenient too. Also consider your lighting situation, whether you’d like a fan with a light or for the fan to be placed centrally among the lights in the room.
