24.01.2022 Who loves classic Barossa Shiraz? The Darkie Old Vine Shiraz which is a wonderful example of a classic Barossa Shiraz, and is the jewel in the crown at Liebichwein. We've been making wine under this label since 1996 and love observing how each vintage is unique. Typically, this wine exhibits black cherries, vanilla, chocolate with hints of sweet anise. Amazing concentrated flavours fill the whole mouth, lingering long after the first sip. All this is perfectly balanced with t...he subtle oak maturation and super silky tannins. Special museum stock is currently available from vintage 2010 and 2012 but in strictly limited quantities. Available online now. https://liebichwein.com.au/shop/ To learn more about The Darkie Shiraz story read our recent blog post here: https://liebichwein.com.au/the-darkie-a-classic-barossa-sh/

17.01.2022 A blast from the past! Ron as a youngster with his three brothers taken in 1956 when Ron was 10. Growing up in a winemaking family meant that all the boys got involved with Rovalley Wines. Garnet the eldest eventually got to drive the kombi delivery van, affectionately known as the "lolly wagon", Ron became the winemaker and ran the lab, Trevor was a vineyard manager and Peter looked after the packaging line. Winemaking is in Ron's blood and he continues a Barossa family tradition over 100 years old.

13.01.2022 Let's celebrate our freedom to roam locally, while staying socially distant and safe of course. We've decided to enjoy a few more days to ourselves and get some jobs done around the house and winery. When we're done we'll be pouring some ice cold Rosé. Liebichwein cellar door will re-open next Friday.

09.01.2022 This seat could be yours. Call in for a tasting over the weekend and enjoy great wine and views towards the Barossa Ranges. Cellar door is open 11am to 5pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

08.01.2022 We pride ourselves on our extensive range of fortified wines. Our wines are suitable for drinking now or topping up your own barrel for further ageing. We offer three Tawny styles and three made from white grape varieties many people like to call 'white port'. Recently one of the Tawny blends had a name change from Keg Blend to Ben's Blend as a tribute to Ron's Grandfather Benno Liebich who started a winery over 100 years ago.... Ben's Blend is a mature tawny with aged woody notes and spiced dried fruit. A five year old blend ideal for a newly seasoned barrel or adding complexity to a youthful base blend where more developed characters are preferred. Available in 2, 5, 10 and 20L containers, bring your own clean container for a refill or buy online and we'll ship within Australia. https://liebichwein.com.au/pr/bulk-fortified-bens-blend-5l/

06.01.2022 The rewards of patience. Being known for our wide range of fortified wines means having a great deal of patience. And barrels of all shapes, sizes and blend ages. Ron got hooked on fortified styles when studying at Roseworthy College in late 1960s. He is proud to keep Barossa traditions alive.... @oz_creative_
