25.01.2022 Yesterday we had our last big get-together with an Integration Workshop for the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct project team. Great to have government and consultant reps together again one last time to review the work done over the last six months and make sure we’re delivering a transformational masterplan that will see the Snowies region and community grow and thrive for the next 40 years. #community #sustainability #regionalplanning #socialsustainability #teamwork #collaboration
25.01.2022 First time for all good things and this week it was my first go at being a podcast guest! It was a great chat with these guys. Have a listen (link in comments below) and would love to hear your thoughts on some of the questions we discussed below; plus, are Enquiry by Design workshops a male thing... (you can imagine how I responded to that!). Enjoy
24.01.2022 Thoroughly enjoyed the discussion with other Canberra women at this lunch on Tuesday. It was thoughtful, considered, sometimes funny and just a little bit heart breaking too (due to the coincidental timing with the local bushfires and broader climate change implications as the topic of the day). A true pleasure to connect with other Canberra women in the sustainability space.
23.01.2022 What a great week we had in Thredbo this week doing an Enquiry by Design workshop for the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct. Such a great team of people to work with and exciting to plan for the future of the region in such an ambitious way. Feeling thoroughly energised and inspired by both the content developed and the scenery that surrounded us. (Managed to get some trail running in which was a great bonus addition to the week!) #enquirybydesign #specialactivationprecinct #sustainabledevelopment #socialplanning #regionalnsw #team #design #planning
23.01.2022 I've returned to the world of freelance consulting. What is it I do? Well, I do a lot of things - some might call me a generalist, but I like to say I have specific set of skills that sets me apart, and that's my ability to combine the environmental and the social for sustainable outcomes. With a background in human geography and a masters degree in environmental planning, I'm well placed to advise and plan for communities of the future. I love to understand people at both t...he macro and micro scale, and I think that people are at the core of our policy and planning for the future. You'll also find I see things through a lens that considers the world we are in - a climate change affected world, one that needs sustainable development prioritised and one that sees all people as equal. My services include: -Stakeholder engagement strategy and execution - internal and external stakeholders -Workshop facilitation -Social research and demographic analysis -Community research -Social impact assessment -Strategy, policy and planning advice for all things sustainability related -Research and writing. My rates are flexible according to the tasks involved. Please don't hesistate to message or reach out if you would like to explore ways we can work together.
15.01.2022 A little piece I wrote about the importance of women for the future of agriculture. The strengths of women applied to the systemic issues facing the agricultural sector. https://www.curriecommunications.com.au/the-importance-of-/ Written for Currie Communications... #WomensDay2020 #futureforall
11.01.2022 What a fabulous bunch of women for our first Canberra lady freelancers in sustainability breakfast. (I wonder if I can come up with a catchier name!) It was great to connect with these women about sustainability in Canberra. A fabulous broad-ranging discussion about having a growth mindset, opportunities and connection, trust, active travel, environmental assessment and community engagement was had. If you would like to join for the next one to be held in November please let me know so I can connect you in!
07.01.2022 Time for an update! I've been a little quiet but plenty has been happening this year. I'm looking forward to spending the next week in Jindabyne for our Enquiry by Design workshop for the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct. I am leading the Social Infrastructure Assessment for this project and am part of the core leadership team for the Structure Planning team. It will be great to be with all the government agencies and technical leads next week to collaborate and pl...an for the future of the Snowy Mountains SAP precinct. #socialplanning #socialinfrastructure #planningforthefuture #sustainabledevelopment https://www.nsw.gov.au//snowy-mountains-special-activation
