07.01.2022 This week we've been inspired by Josh of BlackFit Fitness as he embarks on a week dedicated to reconnecting with his traditional roots - physically, mentally and spiritually. We've had the pleasure of working with Josh for the past several years, and we are loving following his journey so far. Here's what he had to say about it: "With the remaining hours of eating the white man’s way I would have become more nervous with what and how I will grasp from this experience; 7 compl...ete days of no western foods only Aboriginal foods. I will document what I can with this journey (my struggles) and with what is allowed (preparation). I am doing this for a few reasons; to test my mental resistance, for the health benefits of no rubbish food and to cleanse my blood to connect to mother. On my last night I will be camping out on my country when I am most connected to my ancestors, country and the spirits in the hope of a deeper connection. I will be practicing mindfulness activities throughout the week like meditation and attention setting while practicing my mother tongue. This will be a great experience and I am ready for the struggles as well as the positive. Tomorrow marks the beginning, I will not be so active on socials this week as you could imagine gathering and collecting foods. I look forward blogging what I can, time to deeply connect " #aboriginal #aboriginaltradtion #bushtucker #aboriginalfoods #indigenoushealth #bodyandmindhealth #reconnectingtoroots #naidoc #naidoc2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe
