03.01.2022 Hello. My name is Steve. I am an Alexander Technique teacher, classical guitarist and personal trainer. I really love teaching and guiding people, and I really enjoy underpinning my teaching and coaching with the principals and practice of the Alexander Technique. The technique helps us become aware of un-useful habits and inefficient ways of using our bodies, and provides us with a way of continually accessing our more natural dynamic posture, better balance and more centred... way of being. It has helped me immensely with certain passions and interests, including classical guitar playing and swimming, and has also provided me with a clear and practically applicable model for mindfulness and self care on a day to day and even moment to moment basis. The technique also forms the bedrock of my approach to strength, conditioning and general fitness training. Therapeutic and re-educational (that is; the process of un-learning or un-doing engrained habits that are very hard to recognise by ourselves), the Alexander Technique works at the core level of coordination and thinking quality. It can be applied within all the spheres of a modern and fast-paced life, whether work, performance, exercise or leisure related, and often bring about profound positive changes that can include, -decreased or eradicated back, neck and shoulder pain -restoration of natural breathing patterns -improved quality of movement and posture -improved muscular efficiency, tone and flexibility. -overcoming performance anxiety -overcoming repetetive strain injuries -decreased levels of stress and anxiety.
