25.01.2022 The team at Reynella Lodge had fun celebrating the Irish culture, even making Irish coffee as part of their St Paddy’s Day festivities. So how do you make the perfect caife na hÉireann? We started by brewing our finest dark coffee beans, adding in a premium Irish whiskey, and carefully placing the whipped cream on top. Wishing you a ‘wee’ bit of fun and a lot 'o' luck this St Patrick’s Day!

23.01.2022 Life Care's staff and residents have outdone themselves with this year's Christmas display!

22.01.2022 The residents of Glenrose Court recently made these beautiful vases of flowers as part of their craft and fine motor skills class. This type of activity assists with coordinated movements, strengthening the muscular, skeletal, and neurological systems (and it’s plenty of fun too!).

21.01.2022 When a smile is contagious A 100 year age gap seemed like the last thing on Teo's mind when he met Lorna, his great grandmother who lives at Gaynes Park Manor. Teo lives with his family almost 15,000km away in Sweden making this meeting between generations extra special!

21.01.2022 Gaynes Park Manor kept that show feeling alive with Show Week. The team created side-show alley, with games, dancing, and prizes galore. The atmosphere was amazing and everyone took home a show bag full of treats to enjoy later!

21.01.2022 Art classes and icecream...Perhaps an odd combination, but the residents at Reynella Lodge seem to be enjoying both, and there's always room for icecream!

19.01.2022 What’s the secret to making a delicious marmalade? Is it to soften the peel to release the pectin, to dice or to shred the oranges or to add the sugar at precisely the right time? There are many family recipes, and Sarah’s been making marmalade for years, but her secret to making the perfect batch? Well, it wouldn’t be a secret if we told you!

18.01.2022 Spring is the time to get out in the garden, and Anne from Aldinga Beach Court is enjoying every moment of being outdoors.

17.01.2022 Check out Sam’s new wheels. The Reynella Lodge resident couldn’t be happier with his recent purchase. There’s even a suggestion he could deliver the mail! Seems like the Reynella postie may be out of a job!

15.01.2022 It’s been a week of ‘G’day mates’, ‘fair dinkum’s’ and ‘shrimps on the barbie’, so it’s only fitting to polish things off by baking some lamingtons too!

15.01.2022 What a beautiful day. It’s no wonder the Reynella Lodge walking group decided to get out and about to soak up the sunshine!

14.01.2022 Lilian loves to bake! She recently made a beautiful sponge cake using a family recipe. There are many tips to mastering the perfect sponge cake: some say it’s about the ingredients being at room temperature, others insist that you need to use a ‘light folding technique’ when mixing the eggs into the flour. Either way, Lilian made this one with love, shared it with friends, and it was simply perfect! What’s your secret to the perfect sponge?

13.01.2022 It’s so ‘egg - citing’ that Easter is almost here. The Easter Bunny is already spreading joy and (chocolates) to the residents at Reynella Lodge. I’m sure there will be hot cross buns and Easter eggs aplenty over the next few days. How’s your Easter break looking - do you plan on indulging in chocolate?

12.01.2022 Two culinary masters learning from each other: Bethany Finn, Executive Chef in Residence, and Nonna, Italian gnocchi guru from Gaynes Park Manor. Bethany was amazed that Nonna could whip up a meal for 20 people with no fuss, creating beautiful gnocchi by feel, without a recipe. Bethany said, It was just like working with a professional trainer!’ The meal was enjoyed by all, only surpassed by a relaxing afternoon on the balcony with friends. Do you have a secret to perfect, fluffy gnocchi?

11.01.2022 We really enjoyed playing the ‘Pie Face’ game at the Parkrose Village Show Day, but we aren’t sure that Ross had quite as much fun! The residents took part in the yellow brick road challenge and other show favourites, with plenty of prizes won along the way. A fantastic day was had by all.

10.01.2022 Shouting out BINGO, can be very rewarding, and Joan is pretty pleased with herself on this occasion. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon with friends at Gaynes Park Manor, and it’s a great way to improve concentration and enhance memory recall too.

07.01.2022 It looks like the ‘Handy Mates’ team from Gaynes Park Manor have swapped their power tools for paint brushes, and the outdoor furniture looks all the better for their efforts. Thanks to Matt from our Property Services team for supporting the residents in such a rewarding activity. I wonder what’s next on the ‘to do’ list?

07.01.2022 There is an abundance of research that suggests music can be used to improve health, enhance moods, and even enhance memory. It looks like it can bring happiness too! Peter, our Chaplain at Parkrose Village, shares the joy of music with Barb.
