25.01.2022 You don't want to be a dead fish. And if you are on the journey towards creating your own life, you have already revealed that that is not your future. A dead fish is someone who conforms and is not able to express their truest beliefs. They say and do what everyone else is doing. They are afraid that if they swim against the current and stand up for what they believe in, they will be seen as too opinionated, too "out there" and someone to be avoided.... But the alternative is a life of boredom and passivity. These individuals end up doing work they don't love for people they don't love, simply to pay the bills. They lose any passion and sense of purpose and end up being like dead fish. They are not really dead, but they may as well be. As Carolyn Tate of Conscious Marketing reveals, "only dead fish go with the flow." If you are reading this, you are prepared to swim against the tide. And you are learning that there is nothing like this pressure to really show you who you are. Yes, it is challenging and arduous but you have never felt so alive. Mark Twain once said, "The two most important days of your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." A business that is driven by your purpose becomes your why. If it is just to make money or is something profitable because it is "trending", you won't have the staying power that is so needed when pursuing a goal that is not easy. A business that is driven by your purpose, and a deep desire to serve humanity and the planet is something worth fighting for. You can see this with the rise of ethical businesses. The entrepreneurs that create them all say that they aligned who they are with what they want to see in the world. I have done a video on the rise of ethical businesses. Take a look, as I reveal some of the most innovative businesses that are admirable and desirable, and really are about making the world a better place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4zMfCbRWqg The workshop this Saturday will be an intensive on how to create a business that is fully aligned with your purpose, as well make the world a better place for us all. Creating a business that is of benefit to humanity and the planet is one that will attract support, and even become a movement. https://www.meetup.com/Creatives-Selling-Online//238821353/ I hope to see you there this Saturday. We will catch up for an early morning tea at 9am and there will be plant-based snacks to enjoy. Enjoy your week and think about how you can make the world a better place. P.S. If you RSVP for this Saturday's Workshop, I will send you focus questions for you to complete beforehand. P.S.S. If you have received this message, can you let me know what your intentions are and what you are working towards creating.

24.01.2022 This is the beautiful wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh. He invented hugging meditation to help people heal themselves and to heal others.

22.01.2022 Emerson provides insights on Education that lift you up as an individual and as an educator. He reveals how the teacher's real role is not rote instruction of the multitude but the cultivation of the individual's natural enthusiasm, and most of all, how this cultivation leads to good for all of humanity. In this article, I reflect on the purpose of Education according to Raph Waldo Emerson. https://www.lifechanginglearning.com.au//what-is-the-purpo

21.01.2022 I always thought of people who love themselves as pompous and annoying but after a while I realised that they really don't like themselves within. They boast about all their achievements and how wonderful they are but deep within, there is really a very unloved child and someone who is desperate for validation and attention. This video by the School of Life really illustrates this idea. When we really like who we are, we like others too and don't feel the need to tell them how good we are. We are also good listeners because we have compassion for another person who is very much like ourselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmGaR_mcWu0

19.01.2022 I'm looking into the changes that we can expect to see in the meat industry in the near future. Very exciting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmOFB4vHi6E

16.01.2022 Here is a worksheet that we will be working on in tomorrow's workshop. We will look at how our thoughts about our past and future prevent us from reaching our potential but also prevent our happiness. 15.01.2022 These are a great way to combine meaning making with practicality. The Middle Child soap made me laugh!

13.01.2022 In this essay, I tell my story of how teachers like Ralph Waldo Emerson helped guide me out of vocational crisis and how it can help guide you or anyone you know who is currently suffering in their job or working life. https://www.lifechanginglearning.com.au//how-i-left-teachi

12.01.2022 If you're still thinking about whether you will attend this Saturday's workshop, that's great. I hope you decide to give it a go. If not, please reconsider. I know you probably have many other things that are just as important to do on Saturday morning than to come to a workshop on creating an ethical business but if I can urge you to come, even if it is just to hear about all the social enterprises that have been created in just the last few years.... We will look at Patagonia, KeepCups, and Who Gives A Crap. Each of these companies have not only created businesses that reflect their interests and provide them with money in the bank, but they also work towards creating a better world. Who Gives A Crap is a Melbourne-based company that makes toilet paper from forest-friendly paper products - in other words, paper that doesn't require the chopping down of trees that are hundreds of years old and are our Earth's lungs, and not to mention some of the most beautiful beasts of nature. (Yep, I'm a Eucalyptus tree-hugger!) Who Gives A Crap donates 50% of their profits to help communities around the world build toilets for them to poop and pee in. They believe, as I do, that business should be about improving the quality of our lives, and most of all, the meaning in our lives. This is the essence of what this workshop is about. It is about learning how to create businesses that not only make us a living, but how to create an impact that is beyond us. An impact that makes others want to join us. In essence, a movement. At the moment, I have two people attending, and I would love for you to be the third, fourth, or fifth. A few is good, but a few more, is a crowd. Watch Derek Sivers on how to start a movement. It is pure gold! https://www.ted.com/t/derek_sivers_how_to_start_a_movement Here is a link to this Saturday's Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Creatives-Selling-Online/ Have a great Thursday, and again, please come! Regards, Annelise :) P.S. All it takes is one individual to start a movement that becomes a force to be reckoned with. Be that individual.

11.01.2022 In this video I reveal why problem-solving does not work. If we want to solve our problems, we must become creators, not problem-solvers. https://youtu.be/CigJiszLfGs

10.01.2022 Winston Churchill said that "if you're going through hell, keep going." I think of this quote when life gets tough. This parable reflects this theme and if you haven't read it before, it is a nugget of gold. http://academictips.org/blogs/face-difficulties-positively/

10.01.2022 Where are you on the growth spectrum? Are you comfortable but not growing or are you uncomfortable and learning more than you ever dreamed possible? I hope you choose the latter. #creativepreneur #entrepreneur #ambition #creativity #artist #comics #changeyourlife #changetheworld

09.01.2022 I've found that we don't gain self confidence any other way then through experience. It is by doing things that we're afraid of that we can develop courage.

09.01.2022 We each have invisible forces that we believe shape and determine what happens to us. We need to debunk these if we are to achieve what we want or to even know who we really are. https://www.lifechanginglearning.com.au//6-most-common-rea #changeyourlife #changetheworld #creativity #artist #creativepreneur #entrepreneur #selfawareness

08.01.2022 Wouldn't it be good if we could handle uncertainty a bit better? I know that I'm a creature of habit and definitely want to know the end result of what I'm doing. That is what makes creating your own business or artwork so hard. We don't know what is going to happen. In this video, Beau Lotto says that we will do almost anything to avoid uncertainty but without uncertainty, we can't think differently. And if we can't think differently, we can't be creative. What is most profo...und in his video is the idea that until we question our assumptions about the world we live in, we can't progress to other ideas. We are literally stuck with those ideas, forever going around in circles until we are either pushed (in my case!) or we deliberately seek other ideas out through new experiences (a lot harder but incredibly worth it - kind of like the feeling you get after jumping out of a plane, which I am oh so not doing!). What are your thoughts? :D P.S. This video is a must see!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR2P5vW-nVc

08.01.2022 When this many doctors are willing to stand in front of the White House as proponents of a plant-based diet, we have no choice but to take notice. The evidence is undeniable, whole plant-based diets have the far lowest rates of disease.

08.01.2022 I've been practicing this for a while and it feels good

07.01.2022 My latest video... :D

07.01.2022 Mark Zuckerberg told Harvard's graduating class of 2017 that the challenge for today's 20-somethings is to create a world where everyone has a sense of purpose. "Purpose is that feeling that you are part of something bigger than yourself, that you are needed, and that you have something better ahead. Purpose is what creates true happiness," he said. Zuckerberg reveals one of life's most fundamental truths - a purpose will enable you to endure any amount of hardship and suffering.

06.01.2022 After reading a biography on Ralph Waldo Emerson, it is clear that we need to be self-reliant. John Vespasian in a podcast with Urban Farm says that the only way we can be self-reliant is by protecting individual property and engaging in trade. It is those two elements that enable individuals as well as the culture to prosper. If you are into history and entrepreneurship, you will love this podcast. :) https://www.urbanfarm.org/blog/2017/05/09/john-vespasian/

06.01.2022 I'm about to buy the iPad 12 inch but am unsure about storage capacity. Do I need 512 gigs when I'm a researcher and writer? Probably not. This article was good for letting me know.

04.01.2022 We're meeting up next Saturday (12 August) to discuss the problems and issues within Education and what role we can play in a very uncertain future. If you're an educator or are interested in education in whatever form, this meetup is for you. https://www.meetup.com/edupreneurs/events/242241159/

02.01.2022 How do you cure unhappiness? You create something meaningful. We can't be unhappy when we are creating things that we find meaningful.... When we lose sight of what is important and meaningful to us is when we become incredibly unhappy, even depressed. This is where we are living our lives according to someone else's or society's expectations. We don't know who we are and we have turned our backs on ourselves. You know you are doing this when you feel hopeless, powerless or bitter. I learned this and am still learning it. To avoid living a life of quiet desperation, we must learn that we are most happy when we are creating things that improve the lives of not only ourselves but the lives of others. This is also known as the virtuous life. And this is why we are seeing the growth of ethical businesses. People are beginning to awaken to the realisation that they can create a better world by creating what they want to see in the world. They also realise that they are most alive when doing this. Yes, they will hit every roadblock imagined and unimagined, but because what they are doing comes from within and it is virtuous, they will keep doing it. I saw this with the creator (Ehang) of the new megadrone - a self-driving drone. Ehang said that he created the vehicle because he wanted to completely stop the deaths that were due to helicopter crashes. Through a vision of creating a drone that will not crash, he has succeeded. I think we are going to be seeing his drone and others like it in the very near future. I don't think anyone will ever argue that Ehang should have just did his job and not work towards what he found most menaingful. Imagine if he did? He would be miserable, no doubt. These are the ideas that we will discuss in this week's workshop: https://www.meetup.com/Creatives-Selling-Online//238821353/ If you love learning and want to learn about the future of ethical businesses, you will find this workshop very meaningful. Talk soon, Annelise :) P.S. Here again is my latest video on the Rise of Ethical Businesses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4zMfCbRWqg
