The world feels like it is turning faster again. It is getting harder to remain peaceful, with demands on time edging their way back into my schedule. Times like these, where I could wander slowly along a forest path with dear friends, become more and more precious. . Wild places call me in, call me home, and remind me that this world is so full of wonder. There is magic everywhere, I must only slow down and look closely to see it, peeking out from it's subtly hidden places. . Time spent moving with nature's rhythms, is something I'm learning to make space for in my life. It feels as essential to my health as the air I breath. All those things that preoccupy my mind, become trivial when I stand beneath the sighing trees, or by the undulating ocean. . Even the slow, nothing time of staying home and not socialising prompted big inner changes to unravel. As this world changes around me, more than ever I'm feeling challenged to shift my gaze, change my perspective, look up to the horizion instead of looking down into fear. 16.01.2022 Every time I have chosen to lean into the discomfort, to turn and face what I fear, to stare a painful truth in the eye, to go where resistance begs me not to go, to stand in the fire of tranformation and not shrink back, to take one more step past the known, into the uncertain... To do any of these things that each time feel like they could shake, and even even break my whole being. . Every time I have leaned, stepped, turned, fallen, moved forward, I have found there in tha...t terrifying space that I am never really alone. I am forever blessed with supporting friends who have my back. 07.01.2022 So much fun to get back into performing! It's always gives me such a rush to showcase a practice I love so much. Big thanks to this legend @drifter_d4n for our first performance together! . Last weekend's Shitshow Spectacular was such an epic event to be a part of. Huge thanks to the organisers for the mammoth amount of work they put in to make it all happen. . I am forever impressed by the creativity and dedication that the Perth Blazing Swan, and wider Burner community, ha...s for artistic expression and generally having a freaking good time together. What a wild and wonderful world it is. . As I write this, I still feel a heavyness that for many places in the world events like this are still not possible. I don't take this privilege lightly, that in this somehow sheltered city, we are able to enjoy something like normality again. 04.01.2022 There is a release, true freedom to be found, within these moments when we let go and trust completely. . Icarian skills teach me to trust and hold my shape like nothing else. Especially the cast away. There is no way for me to do this skill if I'm in my head or hesitate. That moment before the throw, I have to let go of thinking, drop into feeling, trust my body's intincts, throw my shape, and trust my base. . Feeling those levels of trust has helped me so much in a few oth...er acro skills that challenge my fears. And of course, is a great lesson for life. Trust yourself, trust your instincts, trust your steady friends, trust that life will land you right where you need to be. This practice of partner acrobatics perpetually challenges me to face my fears, and open myself up, over and over and over. It is a constant invitation, to take the risk to blossom. The acro skills change, each fear runs it's course, but the same lessons cycle through, one echoing to another. . Practicing acro challenges me from every direction. And with... each layer shed, there always seems to be another waiting beneath, to be explored, unfolded, and released. . But no challenge ever turns me away. It can't, I'm drawn in by so much love. My love for this practice, my love for this body, my love for the sweetest freedom I find in movement, my love for those I connect with, and my love for the adventures this acro journey brings me.
