17.01.2022 Diving deep to explore theory and application of Yoga for Trauma, Mental Health & Body Image. What at wonderful heartfelt immersion. Looking forward to sharing my learnings with other yoga teachers and yoga participants and of course those that haven’t tried yoga yet or for those whom it seems inaccessible. Thanks @sarahball.yoga.counselling @ Govinda Valley Retreat

15.01.2022 DEEP REST UNWIND THE TENSION TIME OUT... There is the yoga that you use to touch your toes, and there is the yoga that you use to calm your nervous system and find stillness and space. In this 1.5 hour masterclass you will learn some simple, gentle techniques and slow somatic movements to help unwind physical tension. Once our body feels calm and free from discomfort we can then settle into some beautiful supported floor based shapes and let ourselves rest and reset. Sunday 8th September, Back into Health, Blackburn

11.01.2022 Try harder, meditate more, practice for an hour every day, don’t eat sugar, don’t eat wheat, be skinny, read self help books, change your mind, be mindful.....on and on and on it goes. The yoga industry unfortunately doesn’t realise that for many people the constant bombardment of these messages does the absolute opposite. It doesn’t make you feel better about yourself or even give you the tools to feel better about yourself. . It makes you feel overwhelmed. For people with anxiety or depression or people recovering from substance use and trauma, sometimes doing the smallest thing can feel like climbing a mountain. And just getting out of bed, not getting wasted and having a meal for the day is enough. #lifeonthemat #traumarecovery #traumainformedyoga #recovery #mentalhealthawareness #badyogi #gentle #doingthebestyoucan

08.01.2022 I am more than my feelings...... I am more than my lack of feelings..... An interest in my body structure and how things work together (or sometimes not) has helped me feel more at home in my own skin. ******Having done a a bit of Yin Yoga training and having a layman’s interest in biomechanics, looking at my latest X-rays is fascinating ! Look at my right hip socket- how far laterally would I be able to lift my leg (abduct) before I couldn’t move it any higher? What else do you notice about my bones? #yinspiration #yinyoga #biomechanics #traumasensitiveyoga #xrays #ilovemykitty

07.01.2022 Balancing your inner worlds. A three hour Yin & Myofascial Release Immersion. Would you like to feel more balanced or find some deep release and rest? Have you wanted to know more about the deeper contemplative practices of yin yoga?... We all carry tension in our bodies. We all experience stress. The way we sit or stand, repetitive movements, and modern living all contribute to discomfort or anxiety. Yin yoga can have a profound effect on our general sense of wellbeing. Maybe you are curious as to why? Your fascial network is like a scaffolding throughout your entire body. Myo refers to muscle and fascia is the network of connective tissue that is like a superhighway of information, allowing you to sense or know where you are in space and to influence how body sensations travel to the brain. In Yin yoga we view this network also as a highway of vital energy- Prana or Qi and learn to create shapes (asana) that directly affect this system, waking up and transforming our inner world. In this 3 hour Yin and Myofascial Release Immersion you will: Learn more about the energetic and contemplative practices of yoga whilst exploring slow, gentle yin shapes Explore the use of a variety of soft balls on and over various areas of the body in order to create greater freedom in your movement, breath and wellbeing. Leave feeling rejuvenated, spacious and alive to the awareness within. Book directly with Seed Yoga & Wellness, Blackburn.

06.01.2022 I know community anxiety is going to get worse over the next few weeks. Take a moment and check in: what’s going on in your body- is it telling you something? Or do you feel it more in your brain? Is your mind flipping about? For myself, my instinct is to run or disconnect from what I’m feeling in my body mind so my practice is to stop, ground by breathing or noticing where I am, then I can check in truthfully. Once I’ve checked it I’m more able to process what is present. Anxiety isn’t always about racing hearts and sweating as so often described. It can be obsessive thoughts, feeling like you don’t fit in, or even irritation and anger.
