25.01.2022 WHEN WE'VE BEEN SO RUN OFF OUR FEET THAT WE FORGOT IT WAS OUR 5 YEARS IN BUSINESS ANNIVERSARY! We are ever so grateful that business is bouncing back after suffering a big loss when Covid hit. We've been so flat recently that it slipped our mind that the 7th of September was our 5 YEARS IN BUSINESS! We unknowingly celebrated at Sirromet Wines last week, being members, we got to attend their members tasting night, followed by a lovely dinner under the stars at the Tuscan Terra...ce. An experience you have to have! Incredible food and wine, fairy lights amongst the trees and the most beautiful atmosphere. So yes, we had a romantic business dinner under the stars haha Cheers to 5 years in business Andy, for being an incredible friend and being an inspiring mentor over this period too. 14.01.2022 HOW LUCKY ARE WE TO HAVE THE MOST INCREDIBLE NATURAL BEAUTY ON OUR DOORSTEP! With the borders being closed, its a great time to explore the lovely state of #Queensland As a getaway for my partners Birthday on the weekend, I booked a retreat in the #ScenicRim in Yangan. From Brisbane, we drove the scenic route calling in at Scenic Rim Brewery to have a beer tasting and sausage platter then continued on to The Falls Drive - the most incredible naturous drive with breathtak...ing views. We visited Queen Mary Falls and stopped at some of the beautiful lookouts along the way. We continued on the drive to #Yangan to our B&B R on the Downs Luxury Rural Retreat WOW, is all I can say! Just 20 mins from Warwick and 2 hours from Brisbane, we stayed at the treehouse on the hill and the images speak for themselves - incredible views, a stunning deck with BBQ, a spa, robes, kitchen, homemade bread & fruit salad... Our hosts Doug & LIz were so accommodating and the most kind people. We are very grateful to have met them and had this experience and will certainly be back. 10.01.2022 LONG WEEKEND ADVENTURE: EXPLORING MACKAY After living in CQ's #Clermont for my childhood years and #Townsville for University, I spent my fair share of time visiting Mackay, however this time was different... I saw it in a new light.... Corey and I visited for the weekend to catch up with our friend Amit. I was blown away by the beauty of the #FinchHatton, #Eungella and Cape Hillsborough areas. We did a number of walks, witnessed the beautiful waterfalls and sat by the... beach lapping up the serenity. It was just beautiful! A wonderful long weekend seeing my god parents, doing a commercial photoshoot and spending quality time with our friend. 10.01.2022 WHEN YOUR IMAGE ISN'T PHOTOSHOPPED & ANDY IS JUST A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER THAT KNOWS ANGLES AND LENS COMPRESSION EFFECTS HAHA When ABC shares Andy's pics and everyone thinks it's photoshopped haha! Ready Andy's explanation of how this was done below: "This image was shot from about 6-8km from the CBD on a 150 to 600mm telephoto zoom with a x2 convertor giving a focal length range of 300-1200mm all of which leads to a compression effect that gives the impression of a much larger ...moon in comparison to the foreground subject. You can read about the technique here and many other places if you google it: https://petapixel.com/.../this-is-what-a-moonset-looks.../ For this shot I think the focal length was around the 800 - 1000mm mark from memory. One thing I did do in photoshop was darken down the sky a little and cool down the white balance and orange saturation as I like an overall whiter and colder appearance to the pic. If I was just going to photoshop in a moon I'd have put in a cleaner version without the atmospheric interference you can see on this one " Nice one Andy! Thanks ABC Brisbane for sharing! :)

I know Im not biased when I say this, but Bec is one of the most beautiful women Ive ever seen. She is so humble, loving and giving and Andy and I were very grateful... to capture these moments for her. 07.01.2022 So Sunday night I was meant to be at a friends having a bit of a band practice but I was already three hours late due to a work meeting, and it had been a long day and I nearly gave up and didn't go.... but my friends are good ones and told me to come over anyway for a laugh and so I did.... and boy was I thankful. Not only did I have a great night with some great people, I also found something I've been looking for for ages.... a spot where I could (for three days only) get ...an alignment where I could photograph a moonrise over the city.... with a really long focal length to get really good compression of the subjects to make the moon look so big.... bit of Atmospheric distortion because the moon is so low in the sky, its not perfect but I'm quite happy with it so for the technical minded this is shot from about 6-7km from the city building on 1000mm (or thereabouts) focal length. 07.01.2022 I love these cooler days when the sun streams into the front of our warehouse place at Colab warming the lounge area and making it the perfect place for a break, a coffee and a moment to watch the world go by.... 06.01.2022 WHEN YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER CAN ALSO DOUBLE AS A MODEL FOR YOUR PHOTOSHOOT :) So now I have some slight pay-back on Andy for having to sit in the dentist chair and model for his dentist photoshoot for Herman Dental Clinic ..... He became our model for our optometrist lifestyle photoshoot with Eyecare Plus Karalee (yes he does need glasses haha). ... Who did it better? haha Em x
