25.01.2022 How much exercise do you really need? . The World Health Organisation recommends healthy 18 to 64-year-old adults should complete a minimum of 150 hours of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity a week. . Some examples of physical activity include walking, gardening, bike riding, running, dancing, sports or planned exercise.... . With the weather warming up it is the perfect time to get out of the house and complete your weekly exercise goal. Strong evidence suggests that regular physical activity can lower the risk of developing type two diabetes and coronary heart disease. Adequate physical activity can also improve cardiorespiratory fitness and bone health. . If you have an injury preventing you from completing your weekly exercise goal, give us a call on 6444 6363 to discuss if our Physiotherapists can help you. See more

08.01.2022 Do you suffer from headaches? . There are many different causes and types of headaches but did you know that some headaches can be treated and cured with physiotherapy? . Cervicogenic headache is a type of headache that is different to a migraine or a tension headache. The symptoms of cervicogenic headache include pain that is generally on one side of your head, that starts at the base of your skull near the top of your neck and wraps around to the front. These headaches wi...ll usually get worse with activities such as sitting or standing for a long periods of time, especially if you have poor head and neck posture. . These headaches are caused by tightness and overuse of the small muscles at the top of your neck called the suboccipitals - you might find the pain increased if you press on them! . Cervicogenic headaches can be managed by making sure we have optimal neck posture when we sit or stand and avoid staying in one position for too long. Pain can also be reduced by performing muscle releases and stretches of the suboccipital muscles. . To discuss more on treatment of headaches please book an appointment with a physiotherapist today: 6444 6363 [email protected] https://hubs.ly/H0yz-s20 See more
