22.01.2022 Neck pain can be caused by many things outside of underlying pathology. Posture, stress and muscle imbalance are good examples of this to name a few. Many people live with neck pain but this doesn’t have to be you! Let our team assess your neck and get a head of your neck pain!

21.01.2022 Its spring time! This means a colourful landscape, warmer weather and generally a more active population. As you either ramp up your activity or get back into your active lifestyle, spare a thought for your tendons, the bodys anatomical spring. Tendons are great at storing and transferring energy to ensure we have a nice spring in our step. But when overloaded quickly, tendons can become a difficult problem to control. Generally, try not to increase your load (distance or weight) by more than 10% in a week. This will help us maintain strong and happy tendons in most cases. For any further advice on managing your tendons, feel free to spring into our clinic and let our team guide you through this season

21.01.2022 This week is Sleep Awareness Week Did you know that sleep is just as important as diet and exercise when it comes to overall physical and mental well-being? Sleep affects our mood, mental state and memory as well as our hormone levels, immune system and our bodys ability to repair itself. If physical discomfort is affecting your sleep, our physios can help with getting your pain sorted or finding the right pillow to help you get a good nights sleep

19.01.2022 PHYSIO OR MASSAGE? While they often complement each other, we sometimes get asked whether its better to book in with a physio or remedial massage therapist first. Physio is typically recommended for: A specific injury or acute (sudden) pain, e.g. pain that started after lifting a heavy box... Ongoing pain that is affecting your everyday life or sleep When youre experiencing symptoms such as pins & needles that require a thorough assessment Remedial massage is often best for: General muscle stiffness and tightness Recovery after sports (DOMS) Stress relief and maintenance to improve overall well-being These are just a few guidelines, feel free to chat to our team to discuss your specific requirements

19.01.2022 With the fine weather weve been getting this week, its the perfect time to grab a walking buddy or a furry friend and head outside for a walk! Check out this article on the many health benefits of regular walking: https://hubs.ly/H0sZlK90

17.01.2022 There's only one day to 'weight' until Christmas! Wishing all of our wonderful patients a safe, happy and healthy holiday season!

17.01.2022 Unlike our resident clinic plant Kevin the Devil's Ivy, your body doesn't have the capacity to regrow a limb when you hurt yourself The body's immune response and healing capacity is most effective in the acute phase of an injury and lessens as a problem becomes chronic (>3 months). Let our physio team help you with your pain and dysfunction now before a small problem becomes a tangled mess!

11.01.2022 With netball and football now returning among other sports, its a good time to spare a moment for our ankles. Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries in recreational sport and with such a complex anatomy they can take a lot longer to heal than we initially hope. With the events of coronavirus placing restrictions on group training, many of us are not physically where wed hoped to be coming into the season. So whether it means dusting off your ankle brace that has been in hiding over the lockdown period, or simply doing a thorough warm up to ensure your muscles are ready to fire, it is extremely important that we give our body the best chance to succeed!

In many cases, hands on treatment from a physio can assist through this phase. Check out the Australian Physiotherapy Associations website below to check how physio can help.

03.01.2022 Our physio Jarrad and receptionist Karina recently did the Moon Shadow night run organised by Perth Trail Series The run took place in Ellis Brooke Reserve, a natural park with sixty foot falls near Gosnells. 02.01.2022 This week we celebrated one year of having our lovely physio Si En on our team Happy workiversary Si En! We are very lucky to have you as part of our Life Ready family

02.01.2022 With gyms re-opening as restrictions ease, its important not to rush into returning to your pre-lockdown exercise program too soon Check out this article for a few guidelines and feel free to chat to your physio about the best way to ease back into exercise and avoid injury.

02.01.2022 Pain around the knee? Have you been running in lockdown? One of our top three injuries at the moment is pain around the knee cap with an increase in running load. Often this takes 6-8 weeks of increases in distance to become noticeable.... Inadequate load management and reactive soft tissue changes are likely the cause. Dont stop entirely - but control your running volume week to week. If symptoms persist see your physio.
