Chloe also teaches pilates classes and works with some local AFL teams. 09.01.2022 Hearing tests are important, particularly for our clients with speech and/language delays. However, we know it’s not always as simple as getting a hearing test done! Here’s a study that’s in need of participants: Have you had difficulty getting your child or client (aged 0- 18)’s hearing assessed? Has your child been recommended to have a hearing assessment by a professional? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are investigating the things that might make it easier or ...more difficult to have your child/ client’s hearing assessed, as part of a PhD project through Central Queensland University. Having even a mild-moderate hearing loss can affect speech, language and literacy outcomes in children, and may go undetected, which can lead to difficulties at school and other areas of life. We are asking parents and speech pathologists to complete a survey (which will take approximately 15 minutes), which asks them to identify ‘barriers’ (things that made it more difficult) and ‘enablers’ (things that made it easier) to have their child/ client’s hearing assessed. By completing the survey, you can go into the draw to win a $100 gift card. 09.01.2022 We often use a range of communication types (e.g. verbal communication, Auslan (Australian sign language), symbol based communication) in order to support our clients to get their message across successfully. One of our clients is currently trialing a system called Snap Core First and is having great success using this alongside her signing! Well done Aria!

It is characterised by impaired vision without any problems within the eyes optic channel, rather the damage/problem is is the brain structure itself. Leo has been working hard on his transitions and last week we stepped it up a notch - introducing stepping and walking; all towards his ultimate goal of playing the piano and Mr Froggy!!
