24.01.2022 I've spent a lifetime making a tonne of mistakes. I have hurt good people and made poor choices that I know I can't undo but for all of that... 11.01.2022 This 'Unsung Hero' is close to my heart - when we found out that Donna was nominated we were so touched to be able to do what we could to provide a bit of light in her life. PS - if your solution to complex issues begins with the word 'Just...' I'm going to assume you don't have a solid grasp of the issue.

03.01.2022 This ad (on the right) just popped up on my facebook feed and I've seen other ads that are similar. It looks like a life line... it looks like an interest fee payment plan - but you need to be VERY careful when using these services. Here are 3 reasons why: 1. A credit enquiry - Applying for these services will flag as a credit enquiry on your credit record. This can have an adverse impact on your credit record.... 2. If you happen to miss a direct debit/payment (even by accident) it will flag/impact on your credit history. 3. Even if you meet all of your requirements and all of your payments, using Afterpay/Zip will most likely be seen poorly by banks when you apply for a mortgage as these deferred payment options make it look like you can't meet your living requirements. I know it can be a tough time and getting the kids back to school is expensive but please think through the ramifications of using these services. They use fun, vibrant marketing - they make their service all about the convenience - but remember, there's no such thing as a free lunch and they're not a charitable service. What looks like a shining light most likely has a darker underlying foundation... Please be careful. There endeth the lesson...eth...

03.01.2022 A blink ago I was 17 and finishing school... I imagined that living another 17 years... (100% of my then existence) would be a lifetime. Now as I'm about to turn 40 I realise how quickly that time passes and how much time is lost in the belief that these days are the dress-rehearsal for some 'perfect day'. I understand why my 17 year old self couldn't comprehend the folly of time... and I know that in spirit, even if I'd gone back to that person and explained how quickly it w...ould all go by - that he wouldn't have listened... but I'd make that effort anyway. I'd want him to know that the power of compound means it makes more sense to get things sorted as early as possible and to learn and make mistakes with abandon - but with a vision to improve... not out of arrogance and 'knowing better'. To anyone who thinks that sorting out their life is a tomorrow job... or that you're too young to care about it now... I can only tell you what I'd tell my 17 year old self.... It isn't. You aren't.... but you have to see that for yourself - and you need to give a shit about it - because no-one is any more in control of their lives and if you're hoping someone else is going to sort it all out for you... that white knight ain't coming. We're all doing what we can to get through so you actually caring about your life and your world? That's as good as it's going to get. Start today. Moose.

02.01.2022 If you get a phone call from a company/call centre offering to review/take care of/rollover your super - and you have not initiated contact with them... Hang up. We had a lady meet with us this week and she took this call, her super (35k) was rolled over to another fund and she was charged $3,300 that was taken directly from her super. That is 10%. That is disgusting.... At no cost to this woman, We wrote to the firm highlighting the 7 sections they had breached in our code of ethics and they agreed to refund all fees and put her super back where it was...in order to avoid prosecution. This is a dangerous numbers game and these scammers rely on the good nature of a huge number of people. Please be careful. If you need help, feel free to reach out.

01.01.2022 For the next 72 hours we will put into force the Life Sumo Covid Protocol. Our team will be working from home with the exception of James, who will maintain our office at 174 Scott Street. We live in an era of perpetual outrage and blame... it is easier to focus on the 'big' issues and make sure everyone knows where you...'stand' on the issues of the day, but it is infinitely more difficult to focus on improving you... knowing that big leaps are taken with many steps of a run up.... I know it's not sexy, I know it's not cool - but the future you will have the choice to either celebrate your choice to grow and develop or lament your decision to whither and die. If you don't think you're in control of your destiny - start today by making one little decision to take a tiny piece of responsibility for your self.
