20.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day and thank you to all the inspirational woman who have shaped us and continue to change the world through great acts whether mundane and on a smaller scale or large.

19.01.2022 To celebrate Fairtrade Australia's Fairtrade Fortnight we're offering free shipping on all Australian orders from now until the 16th of August. We'll also be highlighting some Fairtrade brands that we love and why we're a fairtrade brand through out the fortnight. We'd love to hear from you through the fortnight so make sure you're following our channels and let us know what fairtrade brands and products you love.

19.01.2022 How is your Life Threads shirt shaping up? At Life Threads it has been our dream to create high quality, affordable clothing that celebrates street culture while ensuring fair wages and ethical working conditions for everyone that is a part of the supply chain that helps create our products. Lately we've received a few emails letting us know that some of our white male tees had gone out of shape. These tees obviously didn't live up to our expectations for the quality product ...we want to produce, and the quality you'd expect as a customer. While we've refunded or exchanged items for the few emails we received, we've been disheartened to know that some of the tees haven't been manufactured to the high standards we have for anything we want to put our name to. It's been an expensive exercise bringing ethical tees to the market and something we wanted to do with excellence and high quality products. If you've purchased one of our tees and it hasn't met your expectations in regards to quality, we'd love to know and look at rectifying the situation. Please email us at [email protected] or message us through our social media channels. Thanks Life Threads

17.01.2022 This clip by Fairtrade Foundation is a great introduction to what Fairtrade cotton is all about. Being certified by Fairtrade Australia helps you know that the supply chain and factories that help make our tees meet these standards and that our ethical claims are validated!

15.01.2022 Our good friend Benoit stepped out from behind the guitar and mic stand for this shoot. We're stoked to have him involved and can't encourage you enough to go and check out his tracks to help you get through your Wednesday afternoon.

04.01.2022 A quick message from us before we start sharing more info on why we're a fairtrade company, what it all means and why we're getting behind #fairtadefortnight

04.01.2022 It's the 1st of May & this is your friendly reminder that Mother's Day is right around the corner. We know you're organised and have it covered but just in case we're upgrading all Australian orders with a ladies tee, between May 1st and Wednesday 8th of May to express shipping at no extra cost to you.

03.01.2022 Growing up we got to enjoy playing music with mates and skating, simply because of the location and culture we were born into. We were able to go to school and enjoy hobbies that helped us find meaning. Fairtrade products give workers a living wage and invest in community projects so that those growing up in other parts of our world can start to enjoy some of the lifestyle and activities that helped give us meaning and find acceptance growing up.

01.01.2022 Life Threads as a brand was something we started dreaming about in 2010. It took us a few years to find the time, funds and people to start making it a reality in 2012-2013. It's been a busy ride, always squeezing Life Threads in between the demands of our day jobs, study commitments and growing families. The reality is, the limited time meant it never grew big enough for us to be able to focus on it more. It's been an incredible thing to do. Challenging, as we learnt quickl...y about the industry, the skills required and all the costs involved getting ethical products into people's hands. Rewarding, as people we don't know choose to partner with us in purchasing clothing that meant a better quality of life for everyone involved in the shirts supply chain. Our commitments around work, study and family keep growing. It's taken us a while to be able to acknowledge and accept the fact that we are no longer in a position to be able to give Life Threads the attention it needs, or risk the financial outlay required for another run of tees. The average price we paid for our blank tees was $10.82. Obviously there are a heap of other costs required to get the final product into your hands from merchant & web-hosting fees, photography for designs and look books and printing of designs on the tees here in Australia. Whilst larger companies with bigger orders would be getting a better price than $10.82, it gives you an idea of what our costs were, to try to bring organic, fair trade clothing into a market that has plenty of mark up but doesn't look after the farmers and supply chain that are essential in delivering the final product. So in calling it a day, at least for now, we wanted to thank you for your support over the last few years. We're going to be running a very quick sale, pulling the website down at the end of June. Every single tee will be $10.82 to both thank you and highlight the real cost ethical companies face in trying to bring better quality products and a better quality of life to others. Thanks Scott, Jonno and Cate Life Threads
