22.01.2022 What makes a strong person? The answer will be different for each of us Im sure. For me, Im learning to see the strength in being vulnerable. The courage it takes to be yourself in front of new people; to ask for help; to reach out to someone you dont know to make connections; to try something new and maybe be bad at it! Being vulnerable can be a scary thing. Ive recently had some moments of vulnerability which would fall into the examples listed above. 19.01.2022 When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I have to admit that finding things to be thankful for when Im feeling disappointed or discouraged has not always come easily to me! But I can honestly say that my brain has started giving me a little nudge to find a positive when Im feeling negative. My husband Dan has shared here earlier that as a family we share 3 things we are thankful for each day. Sometimes its easy, sometimes its hard, but that practice has taught my bra...in there is always something to be thankful for (even if its my second coffee of the day)! Today I am thankful for the tiny bouncy ball that my toddler thinks is hilarious to watch bounce around; the opportunity for more focussed time with him during lockdown and for the winter sun weve been getting here in Melbourne. Hollywood thrives on stories of courageous characters who set their mind on goal and persevere through adversity to achieve it. We love a movie about sports people overcoming adversity to achieve success, or war movies where the characters endure the most trying circumstances for victory. In fact, I would go so far as to say that no good story of victory comes without adversity. In the c...urrent world situation I find that adversity is knocking on my front door, and I am certainly not enjoying it as much as I enjoy those Hollywood blockbusters. When I consider my options, to succumb to or to embrace adversity, I find myself thinking of those stories of survival and perseverance and asking the following questions: What will I choose?
