25.01.2022 Who am I and what is ‘Life with Clarity’ My name is Tiara Hesketh and I’m a qualified Personal Trainer located in Canberra, ACT. I started Life with Clarity with the goal to help women achieve physical and mental clarity through health and fitness, and to guide women in becoming the most amazing and confident version of themselves. I specialise in assisting women who are new to exercise, or may experience difficulties and challenges in achieving and maintaining their health... and fitness goals. Services: 1 : 1 sessions (1 Person): With these sessions I work closely and confidentially with you in achieving your personal health and fitness goals Buddy Sessions (2 Persons): With these sessions you can achieve your goals with my guidance alongside a trusted friend or family member. Group Sessions (3-5 Persons): With these sessions you can achieve your goals with my guidance within a group of trusted friends or family members. Each of my Personal Training sessions are tailored to suit your specific goals and current fitness level, and everything is taken at your own pace, in your own time. I also like to ensure each session is completely different from the next, ranging from Resistance and Weight Training, to styles of exercise such as Tabata, Circuits, and HIIT. I understand how intimidating and scary it can be to exercise in big gyms or in front of others, which is why I offer two location options: Sessions in my private Home Studio Sessions the comfort of your own home. No matter where you choose to train, I always do my best to provide a relaxed, judgement free environment, where you can feel safe, supported and empowered. If the thought of exercise makes you nervous and you don’t know where to begin; if it’s been a while since you’ve moved your body and you’re afraid of what others may think; or if you’re in a place in your life that you no longer want to be, and you want to get back to a place of self love, strength and confidence, I’m here for you! 25.01.2022 Its moments like these that remind me why I chose the path of Personal Training. Watching my clients as they become stronger, fitter, healthier and increasingly happy and confident within themselves is exactly why I do what I do. When Lauren first came to me back in January her goals were to gain weight, increase muscle mass and improve her overall strength and fitness. To say Lauren has achieved these goals is an understatement - shes completely conquered them!! 24.01.2022 I’ve noticed something about myself lately. I’ve noticed I haven’t been posting my usual inspirational, mood boosting posts. I haven’t actually been posting much at all, and a big reason for this is because I’ve been struggling with my own motivation. Yep, I struggle too sometimes! But you know what, that’s the beauty of life. Life isn’t always sun shining, blue sky’s and days full of motivation and positivity. Sometimes you’re so busy in your mind, or with life’s responsibil...ities that you forget, or simply don’t give a poop about what you should be doing. The important thing though, is not to allow yourself to completely fall into the negative. You do not always need to be positive to be happy, but part of being happy is allowing yourself to completely acknowledge and accept the negative without allowing it to overcome your thoughts and feelings. Life is all about balance. There is negative in this world, just as there is positive, and as soon as you dive too far into one aspect you blind yourself to the other. In all honesty, allowing yourself to experience and feel each side of things allows you to learn, grow and make clearer decisions. 24.01.2022 Youre NOT good enough - your inner critic. Around three years ago, I was at a time in my life in which I had distanced myself far from my true self. I was in a deep pit of anxiety and depression, my eating disorders were at their worst, and my mind was ridden with self doubt and negative thought patterns. I hid this very well, so family and friends likely had no idea what I was going through. The battle was completely internal and it all came down to negative beliefs ...followed by destructive patterns that I continued to choose. One day when I was visiting my mum I decided to ask to borrow a book. Since I can remember, mum has always had big bookshelves with all types of genres ranging from childrens stories, to adventures and romance, to autobiographies, cookbooks and self development. I didnt know what type of book I wanted to read, I didnt even know why I wanted to read when I hadnt touched a book since high school. I just had this unexplainable urge to read, so I asked my mum to randomly select one for me. Without hesitation mum walked straight over to her bookshelf and reached for a book. There was no thought behind it, just a random selection, yet this was to be the book that challenged my beliefs and completely changed the direction my life was headed. Its called Mastering Your Mean Girl by Melissa Ambrosini, and I have since read this book twice. In reading it, not only was I reminded of my worth, but I was inspired to follow a new path in which I discovered my truth and began my journey of self development and growth. I have been following Melissa Ambrosinis content in the background of my life ever since, and whenever my inner critic begins to rear its ugly head and throw its self doubt vibes my way, I make a point to remind myself of what I have learnt from her teachings, and that I am no longer limited by the negative opinions of my inner critic. This past week I have been struggling with motivation and self doubt while working on changing some ingrained beliefs that no longer benefit me. This morning I came across a TEDx talk by the one and only Melissa Ambrosini, and it was exactly what I needed to hear to steer me back on track. I hope that in sharing this video I can reach those of you that may also be struggling with self doubt, and remind you that its okay to shut the door on your inner critic. 23.01.2022 Day 3. of our 5 excuses in 5 days: Excuse #3 I dont have time. Its easy to get caught up in thinking we dont have time to exercise, but the truth is we always find time for the things that are really important to us. When we sit down and have a good look at how we are spending our time each day, we may actually find that its not necessarily the fact that we dont have time, its the fact that we dont make time - or maybe sometimes, we just dont know how to make t...ime. It all comes down to prioritising our daily tasks. Personally I find one of the best ways to prioritise my daily tasks is to schedule specific times for each task, ensuring I always schedule time for my exercise sessions. You can do this by using a diary, or even an app on your phone such as google calendar (which is free). If you are finding time to scroll through Facebook or watch TV, you can allow yourself time to move your body out of love. I can assure you, its worth how amazing you will feel!

21.01.2022 I used to drink energy drinks every day, up to three times a day! Whether it was Pre-workout or a canned drink such as Red Bull, Monster or Mother, I thought I was getting the energy I needed from these drinks to get me through my day. As it turns out, it was doing quite the opposite, and harming my body so much more than I realised! I havent had a single energy drink since the 23rd of March, and Ive never felt better. Cutting out these energy drinks has actually allowed my... body to cleanse and go right back to functioning the way its supposed to. I have far less tummy issues, my digestion has improved, and my energy levels are the most stable theyve been in a long time! My body can actually absorb the nutrients from my food now, without the interruption of harmful chemicals sending me completely out of whack. These energy drinks do not benefit you. They do not give your body the energy it needs to function at its best. If youd like to beat fatigue and feel happy, healthy and energetic, choose instead to fill your body with clean, nutritious foods, move your body with love, drink lots of water, aim to get 8 hours of sleep every night, and allow yourself time to practice self love and care by doing the things that you enjoy! Quitting energy drinks will not be easy. For the first 1-2 weeks you will feel fatigued, sluggish and maybe even moody. This is your body cleansing out the toxins and re-learning how to function without all those chemicals. If you commit to this and get past the withdrawal-like stage, you will be feeling so amazing you will barely recognise yourself! You deserve to feel good

20.01.2022 DO YOU HATE EXERCISE? I used to hate exercise. I would exercise out of disappointment in my body for not looking the way I thought it should. I would force myself to do ridiculous amounts of cardio to make up for any days where I felt I ate too many calories. I even remember one night in particular where I forced myself to go to the gym at 11pm at night because I ate a McDonalds ice cream after dinner. It took me a long time to realise that when youre choosing to ...exercise for any reason other than to love and respect your body, youre choosing a path of guilt and a negative mindset in which you will always be stuck believing youre not good enough. Exercise should not be a form of punishment! If you are, or have been down this path, and find that you can no longer find or sustain the motivation to exercise, try this instead. Try moving your body out of love, in ways that you enjoy. Take your kids (or fur babies) to the park and run around with them. Go for a walk around the block while taking in the fresh air and listening to the birds sing. Ride your bike on a path alongside water such as a river or lake, its so relaxing! Participate in some yoga or Pilates, or even just some light stretching to begin with. Move your body because of how amazing it makes you feel. Move your body for the endorphins it releases and the mental clarity that follows. Move your body because you love and respect yourself. As you move your body more, and begin to enjoy all the benefits that come along with it, youll find yourself feeling more comfortable and confident in your movement. Eventually you will feel empowered in setting new goals as you notice yourself becoming stronger, more flexible and energetic. Its time to give yourself permission to become the best, most amazing version of yourself, and allow your body the movement it craves. 20.01.2022 The reason so many woman struggle with insecurities is because from a young age we are bombarded with perfect unrealistic images everywhere we look, telling us what we should look like. Based on this, many of us develop the belief that until we look like these images we are not worthy of happiness, respect or self love. It makes me so proud that there are models such as these women, who are brave enough to bear all their imperfections to the online world and stand again...st these unrealistic beauty standards. Please stop comparing your every day reality to other peoples highlights on social media. 90% of the time you are comparing yourself to something that doesnt even exist, instead being only an outcome of photoshop, angles and lighting. Life is short and we only have a certain amount of time here. Instead, choose to spend your time working on you, learning to appreciate and love everything that you are. True happiness and self love goes far beyond the surface

18.01.2022 GIVEAWAY!! What is clean eating? Personally, I dont like to think of clean eating as restrictive, or a diet. I believe clean eating is a feeling, and I much prefer to look at it as a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle where the number one priority is to feel healthy, happy and energetic. ... Think about how you feel after eating an entire bag of potato chips, or an entire block of chocolate. Sickly? Sluggish? Tired? Moody? Guilty, even? Now think about how you feel after eating a delicious, balanced meal. Energetic? Healthy? Light? Clean eating is choosing to eat healthy foods that not only you enjoy, but that allow you to feel energetic, healthy, light, and outright fantastic! I understand that its not always easy determining which foods make your body feel healthy and energised, especially when your body has gotten used to plenty of unhealthy fats and sugars. The truth is your body is not actually rejecting these healthy, nutritious foods, its only trying to cleanse itself of the unhealthy foods and toxins it is used to storing. 17.01.2022 For anyone wanting to implement a little more movement into their days, yoga is a great way to start! Its incredibly relaxing, clears your mind, improves your flexibility and even gives your muscles a bit of a workout. When Im feeling stressed, overwhelmed or my body is needing a bit of TLC, yoga is one of my favourite go-to downtime activities. 17.01.2022 Some days youre extra hungry. Some days you eat breakfast, snacks and lunch, then look over at the clock and realise its not even 11.30am. Today, this is me, and you know what? Im totally okay with it! For so long I would get mad at myself for feeling hunger if it wasnt meal time. I would either continue to starve myself until I was allowed to eat, or I would completely rebel, run to the pantry and eat everything I could, hating myself every moment of it. It makes me ...so sad looking back, knowing I used to treat my body that way. We have hunger pains for a reason. Our body gives us signals for a reason. We are taught through diet culture to think of food as a bad thing. Food makes you fat, eat less. Dont eat more than such and such amount of calories, you have to count all of them or you will get fat. Stay away from this food and that food, they will make you fat. How toxic is this!! When did we start caring so much about what other people say we should or shouldnt do with OUR bodies? When did it become okay to listen to somebodys opinion rather than to listen to our own body? When did the caloric value of food become more important than how that food actually makes us feel? Try something new for me. Try listening to your body - this is called Intuitive Eating. Some days you will eat so much you may question if youre human or wild animal. Other days you might not eat much at all. Sometimes we may think we are hungry, but if we sit down and feel whats really going on, we might find out we are actually just tired, or thirsty, or maybe we have an emotion weve been trying to avoid, so we feel like eating to hide it away. At the end of the day, our bodies know exactly what we need, all we have to do is listen.

16.01.2022 Zucchini brownies Yep, you read that right! These moist chocolatey brownies are full of zucchini and theyre absolutely delicious! Dont worry, you cant taste the zucchini ... - 1/2 Cup Crunchy Peanut Butter - 2 Bananas, Mashed - 1 Egg - 1/4 Cup Granulated Sweetener - 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder - 1/2 Cup Chocolate Protein Powder - 1/2 Cup Chosen Milk (I used Almond) - 1 Tbs Sugar Free Maple Syrup - 1 Tsp Baking Soda - 1 Cup Zucchini, Grated - 1/3 Cup Dark/Sugar Free Chocolate Chips 1. Preheat oven to 160 and line a baking tray with baking paper. 2. Add the mashed banana, peanut butter, egg, chosen milk and sweetener into a bowl and blend well with an electric beater. 3. Use a spatula to fold in the cocoa, protein powder and baking powder. 4. Place the shredded zucchini in a clean dish cloth and squeeze out as much of the liquid as possible (over the sink). 5. Add the zucchini and chocolate chips into the bowl and use the spatula to fold them into the batter. 6. Pour the batter into the baking tray and put it in the oven to bake. Bake the brownies for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through the centre. You can poke it with a fork to check - if the fork comes out clean theyre ready to come out. 7. 11.01.2022 Day of our 5 excuses in 5 days: Excuse #5 I dont like to exercise alone. How many times have you missed out on achieving your personal health and fitness goals, and chosen to quit because your friend stopped exercising with you? ... How many times have you chosen not to take the leap and start your health and fitness journey because your friend wont join you, and you dont feel safe enough to leave your comfort zone alone? Its okay, I get it. I understand this because I used to be there - its scary leaving your comfort zone, let alone doing it alone! I eventually overcame the limiting belief that I needed someone to be there with me, every step of the way; but in order to overcome it I had to overcome my fear of being alone. I had to learn how to be okay with doing things on my own and face the fear of change head on, because at the end of the day, we only get one life here on this earth, and its up to us to make it one that we enjoy. Becoming the best version of yourself involves growth, and not everyone is ready for that growth, or can respect and support others when they want to take part in it. To allow yourself to truly grow, you need to be okay with leaving these people behind. Doing things alone doesnt mean youre actually alone, and it will most definitely open doors for new relationships and new opportunities that will compliment your growth. Youve got this!

10.01.2022 I bought Nutella this week. This may seem like a mediocre thing to many, but to me it’s pretty huge. Nutella was once my binge food. Something I would reach for deep in binge mode and eat insane amounts of. For a long time I haven’t allowed myself to keep a jar of Nutella at home out of fear I would binge on it. I’ve spent the past four months deeply experimenting with intuitive eating and challenging the beliefs and rules I’ve had around food for a very long time. I’ve beg...un to allow foods in my house that I thought I’d never allow on my shopping list again; and in doing this I have begun to give myself full permission to eat these foods whenever I like, and as much of them as I like! Giving myself permission to let go of control around food has not been easy; In all honesty it’s been emotional and incredibly hard. I’ve gained extra body fat (a good part of this also being due to my low level of activity from my back injury), my body confidence has been challenged, and I’ve had many, many arguments with myself in my head; But you know what? I’ve finally started to get a taste of real food freedom. I no longer feel the need to binge on these foods, as the rules around them no longer have legs to stand on. I still have a ways to go with this whole intuitive eating thing. I first heard about it around a year ago, though no matter how much I learn it seems there’s always room for more growth. The point in me sharing this is so that I can remind anyone who may need to hear it that you are not alone. It’s okay if things aren’t easy and you’re struggling, you WILL come out the other side of whatever challenge you may be currently facing - all you need to do is stay strong, be kind to yourself and trust in the process. We are all here to learn, experience and grow. You can do some amazingly, fun workouts with just you and your body. There are plenty of body weight exercises that you can do at home, even in the comfort of your own living room. It doesnt matter what your age, body size, or current ...fitness level is, theres something to suit you, guaranteed. 07.01.2022 35,000 Choices I read that other day that on average we make around 35,000 choices every single day. Some of these choices may be conscious, others unconscious and automated based on conditioning, past experiences, and habits weve formed throughout our life. These decisions range from basic choices such as which outfit we choose to wear, to life changing choices such as entering or leaving a relationship, moving towns, or making a decision to commit to something that will... change everything. 35,000 choices every day. Thats 35,000 times we get to decide to make our future better than our past. 35,000 times we get the opportunity to choose who and where we want to be in life. I believe life is less about finding yourself, and more about creating yourself. If our lives are a reflection of our choices, and with these choices we get to create who we are, where we are and who we surround ourselves with, ask yourself this: Do you live a life that you love? If not, how many decisions are you making each day that are taking you toward the life you want to live? Its so easy to get caught up in the blame game, believing that the reason you are where you are in life is due to external circumstances and not your fault - I too have been caught up in this. The truth is though, what happens to us does not control our life. Its what we decide to do with what happens to us, and how we choose to react, that determines which direction our life will go. The choices we make every single day have the ability to either keep us in a place in life in which we are unhappy, or change us and everything around us, leading to a life that we love and enjoy. Your daily decisions are the most powerful tool you have! What if we were more conscious of the decisions we make every day? Imagine where you could be in 2, 5 or even 10 years time if every decision you made was on purpose and directed towards who and where you want to be. YOU get to decide each day whether you stay at a job you hate, or leave and start the career youve always wanted. YOU get to decide each day if you go home and watch mindless TV shows, or get outdoors in the beautiful sunshine and move your body. YOU get to decide each day if you eat sugary, fatty foods that give you temporary pleasure, but leave your body fatigued and lacking in nutrients; Or eat clean and nutritious foods that fuel your body, boost your energy levels and allow you to function at your best. YOU get to decide each day if you quit on your dreams or commit to them. Its these decisions that determine where and who we will be in life. Lets decide today to make better use of our 35,000 choices. Its time to take control of your life and commit to YOU! Its never too late to become the person youve always wanted to be.

07.01.2022 Excuses Theyre our minds way of tricking us into thinking we have a valid reason for avoiding something, but the funny thing about excuses is that there will ALWAYS be plenty of them, no matter the circumstance. Im going to spend the next 5 days addressing the Top 5 excuses for not moving our bodies. Lets face these demons! Either we keep allowing our excuses to hold us back from where we want to be in life, or we choose to be stronger than them and concour our fears. ... Excuse #1. Im too tired. Your mind likes to trick you into thinking exercise is going to make you more tired, but in reality, exercise actually gives you more energy and makes you feel pretty darn great! It increases your blood flow and gets your heart pumping which circulates more oxygen to your brain and throughout your entire body, increasing mental clarity and improving flexibility and movement. It also causes your brain to release feel good hormones such as dopamine, serotonin and endorphins which not only make you feel good about yourself, but also increase energy levels. So, if your mind is trying to trick you into thinking youre feeling too tired, remember that moving your body is one of the best ways to feel better.

04.01.2022 This ones for the family! Healthy Spag Bol (Serves 5) - 250g Lean Beef Mince (can use any mince)... - 2 Cans Crushed Tomatoes - 1 Carrot, grated - 1 Zucchini, grated - 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic - 1 Tsp Italian Herbs - 1/2 Tsp Garlic Salt - 200g Edamame Pasta - Parmesan Cheese, to taste. Pasta: 1. Boil some water in a pot. Once water is boiling add in the Edamame Pasta and cook for 5 minutes. Once cooked, drain the water and set aside. Bolognese: 1. In a large pan add in the garlic and mince. Cook until mince has browned off. 2. Add in the grated carrot, grated zucchini and canned crushed tomatoes and stir through. 3. Add in the Italian herbs and garlic salt and cook for a further 5 minutes. 4. Serve edamame pasta in bowls and top with the bolognese and some Parmesan cheese. Enjoy! 01.01.2022 Day 4 of our 5 excuses in 5 days: Excuse #4 I cant stay motivated. Do you struggle with finding and maintaining the motivation to get your body moving? One of the biggest downfalls here is that all too often we get caught up in negative motivators, with negative thought patterns such as: ... I need to exercise because I hate the way my body looks I need to exercise because I cant be happy with my body until it looks a certain way I need to exercise because I cant feel good about myself until I decrease the number on the scales. Does this sound familiar? Instead, try approaching things from a more on positive angle, with thought patterns such as: I want to exercise because of how amazingly energetic and healthy I feel after exercising I want to exercise because of how calm, clear and collected my mind is when I look after my body I want to exercise because of how much my mood improves, and how I good I feel when I give myself the time I deserve to move my body and look after ME You may actually notice your motivation will come more naturally, and you will feel so much happier in the process! Its actually a proven fact that people respond better to positive motivation than negative.

01.01.2022 Jam Drop Shortbread Bickies (Healthier version) WARNING Difficult to refrain from eating all in one go!! ... - 1/4 Cup plus 2 Tbsp Butter - 1/4 Cup + 1 Tbsp Granulated Sweetener - 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract - 2 1/2 Cups Almond Meal - Organic Raspberry Jam 1. Preheat oven to 170C and line a baking tray with baking paper. 2. In a bowl mix together butter, sweetener and vanilla with an electric beater. 3. Continue beating on low while slowly adding in almond meal. Mix until well blended and a light dough forms. 4. Use hands to pinch a chunk of dough and roll it into a ball. 5. Place ball onto the tray and flatten it with your hand, into the shape of a biscuit. Use your thumb to create a small well for the jam. Repeat this for all the dough. 6. Place 1/2 a Tsp of Jam into the well of each bicky. 7. Place tray of bickies in oven and cook for 10-15 minutes or until bickies begin to brown on the outsides. They will be soft when they first come out and then begin to harden as they cool. 8. Eat and enjoy!
