25.01.2022 Isn't it time that we started being nicer and kinder to ourselves. The first kind thing we need to do is commit to not putting ourselves on a horrid diet again. This week we had International No Diet day and today it's Mother's day. These are really important days!!! Our kids listen to every word, gesture, criticism we make about ourselves. So isn't it time we were kind to ourselves and made choices that support us truly, wholeheartedly and most of all.... consistently. #metabolicbalance Metabolic Balance #bekindtoyourself #happymothersday

24.01.2022 Last night I cooked one of my favourite easy recipes which uses mostly cupboard ingredients. I love this recipe from Jamie Oliver and so do my boys who are usually pretty keen on their meat! It's definitely a great idea to have a couple of veggie meals a week and this one is a great one! 15.01.2022 Here's one of my favourite soup recipes - perfect for a winter's evening. I particularly love the truly rich colour of this soup. Rich red foods like beetroot support the liver and digestive system and have been shown to improve heart function and the whole cardiovascular system. You can team it up with a tablespoon of sauerkraut if you really want to give your gut flora a treat. I add sauerkraut directly into the soup just before serving - Yum!. A nice slice of sourdough ry...e bread with butter would also add a beautiful indulgent extra addition. Remember to wear gloves when preparing the beetroot unless you like the red fingered look!! 700g beetroot, peeled and chopped 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped 1 potato, peeled and chopped 50g butter 1.2 litres vegetable stock Salt/pepper Parsley, chopped 1. Melt the butter in a thick-bottomed pan and stir in the beetroot, onion and potato. 2. Cook gently for 5 minutes. 3. Add the stock and bring to the boil. 4. Simmer gently for 45 minutes. 5. Cool slightly then blend until smooth, return to the pan and heat through. Season to taste 6. Garnish with fresh parsley when serving Enjoy!
