23.01.2022 Why do I feel uncomfortable posting a photo of just myself? Without a child , or my husband, or a friend by my side? Our whole lives we define ourselves in relation to other people. I’m someone’s mother, I’m someone’s friend, I’m someone’s wife, I’m someone’s confidant. I have been working on defining myself as Lifshy. Just Lifshy. Not in relation to anyone else. Working on me becoming a better me- not only working on becoming a better wife, mom, daughter, or Shlucha. Becaus...e who am I without all of those definitions? At the end of the day, when I look at myself in the mirror, who am I? When you work on seeing yourself as just as important as the people you care for, we start caring for ourselves. Have you eaten well? Have you worked on your mental health? Do you respect your body that Gd has given you? Did you wash your face, brush your teeth, and look in the mirror loving the woman who is staring back at you? Love yourself. Respect yourself.
