25.01.2022 Emma Buswell (previous Light Locker exhibiting artist) and Melissa McGrath (who curated last year's City of Perth ephemeral art commission project High Visibility) have a show opening at Free Range tonight - Excessive Lighting. As a response to the City of Perth Lighting Strategy and relatively recent trend of illuminating city buildings with transitioning LED colour fields, we're super keen to check this one out!

06.01.2022 Auras 1 - 5 are a series of mixed media light sculptures which continue Blues ongoing exploration of magical thought and language. The site-specific illustrations, which rely on light, sound and interpretation to function, also evoke the correspondence of meaning, energy and imagination.

03.01.2022 Remember Ruby Smedley's portrait of Moondyne Joe in the last exhibition in Grand Lane? Well her latest project is happening in the new City Arts Space right now (opening this Friday night). Through this project Ruby aims to remove the stigma around mental illness and proceeds from sales go to Headspace - beautiful painting and a good cause worth supporting.

02.01.2022 An Event is an ongoing project by artists Oliver Hull, Giles Bunch and Kieron Broadhurst focussed on the possibility of inserting fictional narratives into the history of Western Australia. Taking influence from the speculative properties of true historical events such as the Tunguska event in Russia, An Event presupposes that in the 1940s there was some kind of mysterious explosion or impact in the remote Western Australian desert.
