25.01.2022 Taking care of your health is essential. If you need a chiropractic adjustment to help you function at your best, Dr Emma has some spots open for tomorrow morning. Please do keep in mind Dr Shalom will also be seeing patients, so this is not a "no one else is there" day, but we ARE still ensuring plenty of personal space for everyone! Please note that to book for tomorrow, a text message will be the best way to reach us this afternoon. If you would prefer to book a time for next week when you can be the only patient in the practice during your appointment, we can book that in ahead of time, too! Please be sure to specify in your text message whether youre enquiring for a time tomorrow or for a solo appointment next week. Thank you.

24.01.2022 "For optimal physical and emotional wellbeing your baby requires an environment that is safe and loving. One in which their needs are met, reassurance is provid...ed and protection is given from the external world. Babywearing contributes to meeting all of these needs. When your baby is carried they are in tune with your breathing, heartbeat and movements and this stimulation helps them to regulate their own physical responses. Babies with special needs and premature babies often have sensitive nervous systems that can make them prone to overstimulation and overwhelm. Research has shown that premature babies who are held and touched regularly gain weight more rapidly and are healthier than premature babies who are not." Words by Evolving Mamma

24.01.2022 Many thanks to the Australian Chiropractors Association for producing this great short video!

21.01.2022 Allied Health practitioners can remain open through this crisis, and they can help to take the pressure off the health system at this very challenging time. We are still open in Glebe, and we can also send supplements to you at home. Shalom and Emma have a wide range of supplements that they can prescribe to support your immune system, stress responses, and mental health during this time of high anxiety and fear. ... We are also in the process of setting up telephone consults, which the government is encouraging. Please share this post so that we can help even more people in this challenging time. Thank you Shalom Drimer Helene Elizabeth, Michal Lisa Archer, Lior, Noa and the whole Light Chiropractic and Wellness team.

17.01.2022 Hello Sydney friends, Small plead for help / shameless self-promotion here . Woolworths are doing a very small trial with my products through a small selec...t of their Sydney Metro stores and will be conducting a ‘chilled review’ in February. If the lines are moving well they’ll consider opening up to the wider network. Once you’re in, you only get one go... It’s a tricky product to launch because most people still do not know what a raw cake is. The product itself is also fairly small on shelf and could easily get lost in all the noise. Because of Covid I cannot do in-store sampling which otherwise works really well. Unfortunately I don’t have a huge marketing budget to educate the general public!! These first few months are therefore crucial If you happen to pass a Metro in the coming weeks/months, I’d be forever grateful if you could purchase one of my chilled treats - it would be incredibly helpful Alternatively plug my products to your friends+family . Thank you so much!! Edit: These are the stores where you can find product. 09.01.2022 Yesterday, I shared a bit about healthy aggression, which is a state involving sympathetic activation to help us to stand up and speak up for ourselves and othe...rs when something doesn't "feel right", with the containment of our safe ventral vagal so that we can do so in a grounded and respectful way (there’s a link to the post in the comments if you missed it). So what can we do to increase our ability to stay present with and harness our "Fight" energy, so that we can express it in a way that is non-violent and healthy? Here are a few ideas: Identify and witness our sympathetic Fight state, perhaps the feeling of irritation, frustration, anger or rage, the tense or vibrating sensations in our body, the impulse to lash out, and the thoughts that usually centre around someone having done something "wrong" or it being their "fault". Acknowledge our experience with compassion and non-judgement, I notice that I’m feeling in my body I sense ... what I'd really like to do and say is ... I notice that I'm thinking that .... Resource ourselves to bring safety back to our system (e.g. focus on our breath, feel the support of the surface beneath us, slowly look around our environment to remind ourselves that we're safe, do some mindful movement by following our impulses in a safe way). Recognise our "Fight" state as a message that something important to us is feeling threatened (there is something we have a clear yes or no to). What is it that we sense is being threatened? Use our thinking brain to come up with a plan to address the issue, which harnesses the sympathetic "Fight" energy (i.e. mobilisation, doing or saying something about it), with the containment offered by our ventral vagal engagement (i.e. in a manner that is grounded, confident, and respectful). Express ourselves with honesty, authenticity and self-responsibility, honouring our needs and boundaries, but without blame or judgement of the other party (e.g. express our feelings and needs, and make a request or set a limit). I'm wondering how all of that sounds to you? Is there one step you could take today that could help you to embody more healthy aggression in your life?

07.01.2022 Here is Noa the morning after her injury. She is the sweetest kid.

06.01.2022 We recently did a clinic photoshoot with Lea Hardy Photography. Here is a sneak peek. I cant wait to see them up on the website. We have changed a lot since we opened in 2007.

06.01.2022 In these unprecedented times there is much uncertainty surrounding us. Wed like to assure you that Allied Health providers, including chiropractors are still serving you. At Light Chiropractic and Wellness we are maintaining flexibility to respond to the current situation most appropriately. If you have been unsure about coming to the practice because of social distancing guidelines, we have time slots available for you to see Shalom completely alone. This means a 15-20 minu...te appointment, with no other patients in the practice, absolute certainty that the adjusting table and all instruments have been sanitised, and full access to wash your hands in our back room sink immediately upon arrival and again upon departure if you wish. We are here for you! Our reception is remote today, so send us an email at [email protected] to book your appointment. See more

06.01.2022 How are you feeling today? How would you like some special treatment? We have two spots with Dr Emma this morning when there wont be any other patients in the practice. Nevermind 4sqm/person... thats 15sqm per person!! We also have four spots in the afternoon with Dr Shalom when you can be the only patient hes working with. Dr Emma will be seeing other patients in a separate space, but you can get Shalom all to yourself (and, really, who doesnt want that?!?). We encourage you to follow government guidelines and stay home as much as possible, but the government also recognises the value of seeing your health care provider during these times. We can all do our part in staying healthy! If you are taking stricter isolation/quarantine measures, we are happy to schedule a phone call if you need a consultation or supplements.

06.01.2022 #WorkingFromHome tip 1: If you dont have a separate study in your home, setting up your office on the kitchen table can be a great alternative. Just remember to bring your ergonomic chair to the table and sit with your shoulders back and relax, with either both feet on the floor or on a foot rest. www.workingfromhome.org.au

We have some cosmetic renovations to do before we move in, so we will stay in Glebe through the end of the year, but we are very much hoping & anticipating to start January 2021 in the new space! It's BIGGER and QUIETER and we think you're going to LOVE it!! We'll post renovation updates along the way so you can watch the new space take shape.
