22.01.2022 Upgrade Carparks and apply for Energy Credits Our Sales Partner Buckford Illumination Group was working with QIC to provide a lighting solution for more than three carparks across the states. The key objective of the project was to provide a more energy efficient solution for lighting in the carparks, as well as enable the customer to apply for Energy Credits. One of the projects was the Eastland Shopping Centre in Ringwood, VIC. The end result not only achieved significant e...nergy savings, but completely changed the feel of the carpark from cavernous to spacious and open. For this project, the TRILUX Aragon battens have undergone extensive testing for eligibility for Energy Savings Certificates in NSW and VIC/SA. 20.01.2022 The Karaka tree inspired, this bridge is connecting the Esplanade and Ruha Street in Dittmer Reserve, New Zealand. The best view of the tree design can be seen from high above. The Karaka design has strong links to the history of iwi, Rangitne. Generations of Karaka have lined Karaka Grove at Massey University, providing food and shelter for the people that once lived there. The 190m long He Ara Kotahi cycle and pedestrian bridge connects to the Victoria Esplanade in Palmers...ton North City, and to Dairy Farm Road, which cuts through Food HQ to give access to Massey University. Lighting design was not initially considered and it wasnt until construction had begun that lighting became of concern. Fifth Season Design was appointed the lighting design consultants to deliver this project to the client - Palmerston North City Council. The design was developed which incorporated a continuous illuminated handrail. The challenge was finding a complete handrail lighting system that could work with the design of the bridge. 18.01.2022 He Ara Kotahi Bridge - The Karaka tree inspired, this bridge is connecting the Esplanade and Ruha Street in Dittmer Reserve, New Zealand. The design was developed which incorporated a continuous illuminated handrail. The challenge was finding a complete handrail lighting system that could work with the design of the bridge. As an integral part of the balustrade a custom Richie Rail mounting was designed. Although this suits the design it did not incorporate a method of conne...cting the power. To solve this a wall bracket was adapted with longer and angled tube to connect to the Richie Rail 26 and the post. Interesting fact - Richie Rail 26 was bent for the first time ever! 13.01.2022 Do you remember the iconic Sprinter statue that was on top of Centrepoint Tower during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games? If youve driven along the New M4 recently you may have noticed its new home near Sydney Olympic Park. Its part of the M4 East Legacy project to increase open and public spaces for local communities. The sprinter sculpture was designed by artist Dominique Sutton and commissioned for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. The sculpture was part of a set of three sculp...tures located on top of Centre Point Tower. The other two sculptures were relocated to Canberra after the games, however, the Sprinter found a temporary home in Sydney Olympic Park. The sculpture is 16 meters high and weighs more than 8 tonnes. Light Culture chose the FLC200-CC series by WE-EF LIGHTING Australia / New Zealand for its precision optics and excellent colour mixing. The RGBW multichip of the FLC200 series mixes colour before exiting the luminaire, creating a perfect and even blend of colours on the sculpture. Read more:
