25.01.2022 It's great that racism is being recognised as a threat to public health. Now we need to get recognition of the risk for all the other 'isms' as well!
24.01.2022 I've been having lots of conversations about this lately- in training and supervision sessions I've run, as well as with friends and family. The current Covid situation (and, for many, the previous bushfires/ floods situations!) can accurately be viewed as collective trauma - and the impact of this chronic stress is being seen and felt in our relationships and health at all levels. It is critically important to have self-compassion at this time, and to access support to expand our windows of tolerance.
23.01.2022 What are you doing this weekend for your mental health?
23.01.2022 Awesome news - Suicide rates DROPPED in NSW in 2020! Kudos to the services that stepped up to provide extra support during these trying times. Please keep connecting with each other and accessing support when you need it, especially over the holidays!
21.01.2022 Not going day by day, but plugging along with my #gratitude challenge No. 11: A food you love. Today I'm grateful for pumpkin and cheese lasagne - made for lunch by my Junior Masterchef son. Yum! https://loveandmarriageblog.com/30-day-gratitude-challenge/

21.01.2022 Even more research to support the amazing impact that a gratitude practice can have.
20.01.2022 This is not necessarily the year to be making "big" goals- and that's perfectly OK.
20.01.2022 Maybe the #grind is getting you through this season, and that's ok: but be kind to yourselves, friends. #stayingbusy as a way to deal with the #pandemic is a p...retty healthy way to cope, all things considered, but as we roll into month 8, check in with yourselves to make sure the #hustle is leaving room for essential #selfcare like sleep, nourishment, play, relationships, and movement. Page 1 of 3 of my latest resource on #Burnout - Patrons got instant access to the full 3 page PDF earlier this week, but you can download the set at https://lindsaybraman.com//burnout-vicarious-trauma-hando/
19.01.2022 Coming up to the end of what has been an extraordinary year, I’m starting a process of reviewing what has been, and thinking about how I want to show up in 2021. This list showed up on my feed this morning, and I love it I will definitely be including some of these Intentions in my own list for next year- do any of them resonate for you?
18.01.2022 Detoxing is not necessarily about the food you eat...
17.01.2022 Day 9 #gratitude challenge: Something you like about where you live. From the day we moved into this house, I have *loved* hearing the many sounds of birds in the morning and throughout the afternoon. :)
17.01.2022 It’s OK to not be feeling very ‘twinkly’ this year...
16.01.2022 Some food for thought..... how much of our need to be 'busy' is actually a socially-sanctioned, fear-based distraction, or a trauma response?
16.01.2022 Day 10 of the #gratitude challenge - a person in your family. I am deeply grateful for all of my family members, but in particular my better half, Miguel. He is my anchor and my balance and my life would be infinitely more drab and less fulfilling without him in it!
14.01.2022 Especially at this time of year, when for so many of us there are sorrows to get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with, it is even more important to be gentle with ourselves and each other.
12.01.2022 Hope you can find some time and space to feel good/better today
12.01.2022 This is something that really resonates with me and also shook me by the shoulders while reading Drs Emily and Amelia Nagoski’s work. Caring for each other, and importantly, creating the structures and systemic supports for self care to even be possible, is critical as we face increasing levels of personal and professional burnout.
10.01.2022 The flow-on impact of the pandemic on frontline family violence workers is significant. It is so important that those in the field are properly supported by their organizations, including through the provision of professional and supportive supervision and debriefing.

09.01.2022 Slowly but surely, continuing with this #gratitude challenge Day 8: A Happy memory. I'm grateful that I have so many to choose from! but attending a good friend's wedding this weekend has reminded me of my own wedding which was unconventional in may ways but full of love, laughter and joy
08.01.2022 "Trauma is the impact of what happened to you on your brain and your body. It hurts just the same regardless of what caused the hurt..."
07.01.2022 Before setting any resolutions to improve yourself, take a few minutes to recognize that you’re already a badass who has survived all sorts of thing, especially this year!
05.01.2022 I was aware of the research that pointed to a broader emotional literacy having many psychological benefits, including reduced stress and increased resilience. Now we can add these amazing words from different cultures to that emotional vocabulary
04.01.2022 Let’s rethink- and broaden - our concepts of wellbeing as we head into 2021
01.01.2022 A slightly longer read... but worthwhile. Don’t skip the warm-down of 2020!
