24.01.2022 We declare together the Apostle's Creed: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit... and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. See more
24.01.2022 You are invited... We kindly remind you that this Saturday February 2nd, being the first Saturday of the month, is the monthly Prayer Breakfast, in the church foyer at 8:30am. This month there is no physical breakfast, but we feast on time spent in the presence of the living God, and bringing our prayers of thanksgiving and supplication to His throne of grace. ... Please join us if you can.
24.01.2022 Easter has passed - what now? Last Sunday; Easter Sunday, we looked at Psalm 145 a psalm of praise to God. No New Testament reading but isn’t Easter about Jesus - YES! However, Jesus didn’t come with a Christmas tree or with an Easter egg. Jesus was always part of the eternal plan of the Father. It was against God, our Father, that the world had sinned; as David said, I have sinned against the Lord (2 Samuel 12:13). Sin, being ‘my way’ not God’s. As I listened to the serm...on, I thought . . . no New Testament reading nor any of the ‘normal’ aspects of Easter? Jesus was not God’s ‘Plan B’ or ‘default plan’; He was part of the eternal plan of reconciliation . . . . us and Him. Psalm 145 showed us the greatness of our God and Jesus, at Easter, makes our reunion possible. The question for each of us: Easter has passed . . . what now? See more
24.01.2022 But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children, with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey His precepts. Psalm 103 :17-18

22.01.2022 At a time like this, it is important to be reminded of Paul’s words in Romans chpt 8: What can separate us from God’s love ..? Can Covid? No! However, we can isolate ourselves from His love ...we can choose to step outside of wanting God’s love.... He doesn’t stop loving us - but I can stop loving & seeking Him. Christmas is the time to again accept with both our hands, and our hearts and minds, the unique gift of Jesus and step into 2021 with His assuring love and presence. Gifts are given to be accepted. Blessings to all Pastor Colin
22.01.2022 Words that have struck a chord this week come from Ephesians 2:4-10 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressionsit is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by ...grace you have been saved, through faithand this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. So much of what God offers us, is through Christ, alive in Christ, raised up with Christ, seated with Christ, expressed kindness in Christ, created in Christ. It reminds us that our life with God is entwined with our life in Christ. When he says that he is the way, the truth and the life, that is very relevant to our lives today, as we answer the question Who do you say that I am? See more

21.01.2022 The litany of Reconciliation taken from Coventry Cathedral and the Community of the Cross of Nails that we used during communion last Sunday. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The hatred which divides nation from nation, race from race, class from class,... Father, forgive. The covetous desires of people and nations to possess what is not their own, Father, forgive. The greed which exploits the work of human hands and lays waste the earth, Father, forgive. Our envy of the welfare and happiness of others, Father, forgive. Our indifference to the plight of the imprisoned, the homeless, the refugee, Father, forgive. The lust which dishonours the bodies of men, women and children, Father, forgive. The pride which leads us to trust in ourselves and not in God, Father, forgive. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
21.01.2022 Come and join us Sunday mornings at 10am for our current series "I am the Lord your God". This coming Sunday we have a bring and share lunch after the service, all welcome!

17.01.2022 This week has seen many people challenged by events around the world, and particularly in the US capital, with diverse opinions on the words and actions that brought them to that time and place. It made me think of the words of the Peace Prayer, and the way this prayer calls us to put others before ourselves, to make a difference, and to BE different in how we respond to events, words, situations and people. What is happening in your world at the moment? And how are you choo...sing to respond? Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life. Amen.
17.01.2022 Worship services will be resuming at Lighthouse Community Church tomorrow Sunday 19th July at 10am. 16.01.2022 Hi everyone, this coming Sunday 27th November, after church a group are going to do a "backyard blitz" to help out a neighbour who is going through some big health issues at the moment. We'd love it if you'd be able to join us in serving in this way. Also if you aren't able to help on the day it would be fantastic if we could borrow gardening tools (shovels, gloves etc.) Please let us know in the comments or via personal message if you can help in anyway. Thank you!
16.01.2022 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

15.01.2022 Welcome to a New Year! So many of us have been waiting for the end of 2020, and looking forward to a fresh beginning, hopeful of a better year, of change and progress in the face of the challenges that have accosted the world in the past 12 months. It brings to mind the words spoken to Joshua. He had a huge task ahead of him, as God informed him that he was now the one chosen to lead the people. God has also given us a task, as His people, His church, His bride. And He tell...s us to be strong and very courageous, careful to obey his words, not turning away from them. Meditating on them, so that we might be careful to live out the words written for us. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Be encouraged then, as we launch into 2021, we do not go alone, we do not go unprepared. For we have the very presence of the Lord our God with us, His word to guide us, His spirit to counsel and comfort us. This is why we can say, Happy New Year.
15.01.2022 Dear Friends, we look forward to welcoming you to our 10am worship service this Sunday 29th, with all necessary COVID protocols and precautions in place. Attendees will need to sign in for contact tracing purposes and we will be monitoring numbers for capacity purposes as previously. Masks are not mandatory but if you feel comfortable to wear one, it is encouraged, and disposable masks will be available. We ask that everyone respects social distancing recommendations. Every person should attempt to stay at least 1.5 metres from other members of the public. However, this does not apply to people who live in the same household, who are friends or family members, or people who regularly associate with each other. Let us show the love of God in our respect and care for one another.
15.01.2022 All the best to the teams playing Grand Finals today including Lighthouse Men's.
14.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to all our precious women who mother. That may be to biological children, to adopted or fostered children, to nieces & nephews, friends or neighbours. May they have strength, courage, love and wisdom in all those special relationships.
12.01.2022 It was great to have Bishop Richard Lutwama from Uganda preaching at our service this morning. Such a great and powerful Word with a touch of humour!
12.01.2022 Dear Friends at Lighthouse How important it is to reaffirm, with the disruptions of 2020, and now Lockdown in SA, that the God in whom we believe doesn’t change. We may think that the wording of some old hymns is strange , but the sentiment is powerful, relevant and true.... change and decay in all around I see O God who changest not, abide with me These could well have been the words of Nehemiah when he said in chapter 13vs.14,22,31 remember me O God. We don’t know when we will be able to meet together again corporately; hopefully very soon. In the meantime contact a different person from Lighthouse each day as a mutual encouragement, and use your church directory for prayer. This is an opportunity for ‘ friendship catch up’ Most of all, reaffirm your faith in the Living God, and be reminded of His personal care and love for You! Remember me O God...... He hasn’t forgotten any one of us. Blessings Colin.
11.01.2022 Please note there will still be a sermon uploaded to the website on Monday 23rd for those who wish to listen to Pastor Colin as he preaches on our series Choices in Psalms. This week we look at Truth & Response in Psalm 73. You can find us at www.lcc.org.au
10.01.2022 HE CAME IN PERSON It is very easy to be overwhelmed by the ever increasing news about the coronavirus and its effect. Our restrictions are insignificant compared with situations in some countries in our world. What benefits we have; food, shelter, fresh water, technology, electricity and gas places to walk, fresh air and the beauty of autumn to enjoy.... While we might be very grateful for all of this, there is no substitute for a touch, a kiss, a hug: God has always understood personal contact. This is why He sent a person to earth; His Son. For God so loved the world that He sent His Son. Whoever believes in Him shall have eternal life! John 3:16 See more

08.01.2022 We have been reminded so often in the past couple of weeks, as we hear stories from friends and family around the world, who are struggling with the effects of Covid 19, with political and economic upheaval, with severe restrictions of day to day movement and life, who have lost ones that they love, that we here have much to be thankful for. This is not to say that we don’t have our struggles also. Relationships, health, finance or work, stress, these can all bring us challen...ges. But how do we respond or react in the midst of these challenges? Taking time to remember the past and present faithfulness and goodness of God is a wonderful thing. It reminds us that God is with us. It reminds us of what He has done, and is doing in our lives, and in our communities. It helps us to take our eyes off ourselves or our struggles and refocus our thoughts and hearts on Him, instead of the challenges around us. Time and time again in scripture we are told to give thanks, to have a grateful heart, to give thanks in our songs, to pray with thanksgiving, to live with an overflowing of thankfulness, to give thanks in all circumstances. An easy task? No, probably not. But when we see and hear those who are facing such huge challenges as mentioned above, and they are still able to say, Thanks be to God, for He is good to me we can be encouraged to do the same. 07.01.2022 Christ is Risen. He is Risen indeed! The grave is empty, death is defeated, the Saviour is alive.
06.01.2022 23 Jesus replied, Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. 25 All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:23-27 NIV
06.01.2022 He is not here, he is risen just as he said. Hallelujah, Christ is Risen Indeed!!

05.01.2022 As people who love God, we are told in Micah 6:8 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Let's do that together.
04.01.2022 THOUGHT How amazing, that this thought written by C.S. Lewis in 1942 is so relevant today. The Screwtape letters consist of 31 letters written by the senior demon Screwtape (Satan) to his nephew Wormwood, a younger and less experienced demon. His job is to guide humanity away from God (the enemy) towards 'Our Father Below' (Devil/Satan). Again I say - how modern, although written 80 years ago!... Satan, "I will cause anxiety, fear and panic. I will shut down business, schools, places of worship, and sports events. I will cause economic turmoil." Jesus, "I will bring together neighbours, restore the family unit, I will bring dinner back to the kitchen table. I will help people slow down their lives and appreciate what really matters. I will teach my children to rely on me and not the world. I will teach my children to trust me and not their money and material resources." Screwtape Letters, 1942 C.S. Lewis
04.01.2022 In line with current Government and health officials requirements there will be NO Bright'n Light this week and NO Sunday morning worship service. We will keep you posted on future services. Stay safe, be kind, keep trusting and be love to your world.
