23.01.2022 STOP SHAKING YOUR GAS CYLINDER!!! you don't have to shake the gas cylinder to know the level of its content. What you should do is to wet a side of the cylinder... with water, after a while the used top part will be dry while the lower part with gas will remain wet. The wet portion tells you the amount of gas left. You can also use hot water in the same way by tipping it down the cylinder and carefully run your hand down the side of it the warm part is where there is no gas the cold part is your gas level in the cylinder. Most times we shake our gas cylinders to know if it's finished or not.this is the easiest way to check. #stay_safe
21.01.2022 Hello turtle season! The Mon Repos Nightly Turtle Encounters will commence on Friday, 6th of November 2020 and continue through until late-March 2021. Boo...kings for encounters will open from Monday, 12th of October. I'm advised that a COVID plan is in place for the safety of visitors, locals and staff, therefore visitor numbers have been reduced for the Turtle Centre and encounter tours.

12.01.2022 NEED A PLACE TO PULL OVER TO LET FASTER TRAFFIC PASS? These green reflectors will help you find a safe place. Often we have trucks or other vehicles behind us a...s we tow our van and want them to overtake but there is no safe place for them to do so. You may have noticed some green reflectors on guide posts beside the road on some highways. These indicate that there is a safe place to pull off the road coming up soon so you can indicate your intentions and be prepared. Approximately 500 meters from a safe place to pull over you may see 3 x Green refectors, 250 meters you may see 2 x Green refectors and just at the safe place you may see 1 x Green reflectors. They are not every where as yet, but you may see them on the Burnett Highway in Queensland and some NSW highways. Not all places are maintained and they are NOT for overnight or extended stays, but just to allow others to overtake or stretch your legs and check your rig. So keep an eye out for them and you will now know what they are there fore. More caravan safety tips at www.truckfriendly.com.au Stay safe. Cheers Ken #truckfriendly See more

Thanks also to Sar...ah from Nolan's Interstate Transport and #ironman Don Kaiwai from J.R Stephens & Co Pty Ltd who did their employers proud by demonstrating how to share rest areas with trucks and the importance of caravanners not using truck only rest stops.
