14.01.2022 INSPIRING...Our final long literary lunch for 2017 with authors Peter Mares and Jock Serong, was in turns inspiring, entertaining and thought provoking. The aft...ernoons scope was huge, from the devastating implications of temporary migration and very real sociological benefits Australian citizenship, to the ramifications of privatising border security, it was a simply amazing afternoon. Thank you to everyone who attended the lunch, Little Feast Aireys and as always to our brilliant host and interviewer Hannie Rayson. Our thanks for the support of Text Publishing Stay tuned long lunches in 2018! (To be placed on the events update simply email:[email protected]) See more

08.01.2022 A Taste of National Bookshop Day with author and lawyer Jock Serong, who is speaking about Writing Crime- 2pm August 8th at Great Escape Books... HIS HONOUR...: Watch your tone Mr Jardim. Ive listened to a lot of petulance during this hearing, and Ive watched you rolling your eyes and huffing and puffing about things that haven;t gone your way...But now you can consider yourself warned: you are being rude and disrespectful... MR JARDIM: No. Im not withdrawing it...What do you want me to say? Could you have cocked this thing up any worse? Bloody helpless kid and you now shes back put on the street now. You know it, dont you? Youre known throughout the state as a heartless old prick and a drunk and seeing Ive gone this far, your daughter-in-laws appointment to the court is widely viewed as a grubby political payoff. Shes got about as much ability as I have. Todays pretty much the lowest Ive seen you scoop, but its been a rich field of excrem- Favel Parrett will be speaking infomally in-conversation with Nic at 1pm and 3pm August 8th at Great Escape Books.
