22.01.2022 How awesome are our @lighthouseyouth Team! They have enjoyed a few weeks break from Friday night youth during school holidays. They are feeling refreshed, they have spent time planning and preparing and are ready for an amazing Term 4! We are thankful for this team- lead by @nickfairall who really love our young people and are passionate about making this year faith filled and full of fun.. 20.01.2022 Ever wondered what the social impact of churches and faith groups are in the illawarra? Good news is we have measured it.... turns out over 140,000 people are positively impacted and served by faith community engagement. This represents over half the population of the illawarra! This community service is at a value of nearly $10million & combined addresses the top 15 social needs of our community. Our very own @paulebartlett & Phil Inglis from the Salvation Army led the report with the help of @cinnamonnetworkau Today we presented the report to @wollongongcity @shellharbourcitycouncil councillors who were blown away with the impact of churches. It also turns out that this report proves the church is not a building it’s people...which our community and local government think is good news. #adifferentlight

15.01.2022 A great article in today’s @illawarramerc about the results of the Cinnamon Faith Action Audit on the Illawarra. . @cinnamonnetworkau along with @together_for_the_illawarra presented the results yesterday. . @paulebartlett said "What we know is that every year we contribute, just volunteer hours $9.7 million worth of support, which is just based on the minimum wage that we give.... "We know that we impact and connect with 141,000 of the Illawarra residents, which is actually over 50 per cent of our population. "We understand that most of that work is done in the supplying of food, need, in the areas of visitation, so people with loneliness, isolation." . Fantastic news!
