I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Godthis is your true and proper worship. - Romans 12:1

13.01.2022 http:// SING FOR JOY Here are some practical tips to help you grow in your praise of God in song: 1. Pray - ask God to help stir your affection + confidence to sing to + about him. 2. Set Goals - like anything, growth often requires a little discipline. Why not set a small goal for yourself when we sing together at church. It could be, "Today I'll sing without my hands in my pockets". 3. Practice - sing at home, in the shower, in the car, with the family. As you grow in confiden...ce it will help feed your joy in singing to God. You might like to start by listening to some of the music that our guys have produced in-house. Check out The Lighthouse Project here: https://m.facebook.com/lighthouseprojectmusic/ PSALM 95 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

13.01.2022 http:// SONG WRITING Back at it again this morning. God is our safety. Safety from the storms of life and the punishment we so rightfully deserve. :) Have a listen to shaping of Safety by The Lighthouse Project Collaborative on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/hbcadmusic/safety-m4a

12.01.2022 'God is good' was written out of a desire to see people sing of God's goodness no matter what circumstances they face. God has displayed his goodness in so many ways. The climax of the song, the bridge (and in a way the climax of God's goodness in the bible) is displayed in Revelation 5. This is where a great multitude worships the weak slain lamb Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the world but is now reigning forever. What a good God we have!

09.01.2022 Sometimes it takes a while to develop songs. There's a journey of input and inspiration from God's word, his people, his work in you via his Spirit. But it's worth the effort to help people love singing about Jesus! Have a listen to these different developments in Thank You Lord. 06.01.2022 To mark our new songwriting initiative, we wanted to celebrate some great new congregational music coming out of local churches in Australia. Here's our sampler... playlist of some great new songs you might not have heard yet. (Let us know in the comments others we should add! Especially from outside of Sydney). Here's Pete Munday from The Lighthouse Project on their song, 'God is Good': "We wrote this song thinking of a bunch of people going through suffering at HBC [Hunter Bible Church in Newcastle]. We were trying to think how to spur them on, to write something that might be recalled and resonate in a time of trouble. Words are hard to speak into peoples lives as they go through hardship. We wanted to catch the concept that God is always good no matter what the situation. Thi song spells out God's goodness in his faithful character throughout the generations, in his wonderful works of creation in the warmth of a sun and most wonderfully in the death and resurrection of Jesus." https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4CaNEJKVaMhUljCcsbqJKV

05.01.2022 Last night I overheard my 5yo daughter singing a Christian song I didn’t recognise. I asked her what song she was singing. She said, Just one I’m making up. You’re never too young or inexperienced to have a crack at song writing.

05.01.2022 "I love praising God. I like it at church because the music sounds good. It’s good to listen to and you can just praise God for what he has done. My favourite song is Amazing Grace. It talks about how God is so loving and how he would do all this for us as a people, how he loved us." Oscar.
