The overall goal for our client Beau, was to be able to transfer in & out of his chair without needing extra help from colleagues or carers. ... The team at Lightning Mobility were able to come up with this solution - an actuator that extends the footplate closer to the ground that allows Beau to step onto it, then it will raise up with a push of the joystick controller to a height that is safe for him to do a standing pivot onto the seat. That is how we build customised power wheelchairs! It's been a delight to work with Beau, his mum & Occupational Therapist to come up with this solution for Beau.
