16.01.2022 6 January 2006 ~18 February 2017 If I only had one word to describe my beautiful Lightning, it would have to be this: RESILIENT. He was also funny, sweet, perfect, neat & tidy, had perfect litter habits, adored Leigh, Heffie the cat, Dr Gerry Skinner & me - his doting mummy. He spent hours supervising Leigh & shadowing Heffie during the day & lapping up all my smooching & snuggling before/after work. ... 6 months after he crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I started Lightning's Kisses Foundation to help very sick bunnies in small self-funded refuges. Since then, we have expanded our circle to include any animals in those refuges who desperately need vet care.... I’m sure Lightning approves

09.01.2022 Hello friends & supporters. It seems that Covid has hit us in an unexpected way. Aside from the influx of unwanted covid bunnies & their equally unexpected litt...ers, we have all but ceased getting bookings for adoptions. We are lucky to get one adoption booking a week at the moment & aside from 1 this Saturday there are none coming up. We have also lost many regular donors due to them losing jobs which is completely understandable: But this means that we are spending money we don't have on keeping these bunnies fed & healthy. The adoption fee goes no where near the actual cost & then we have the daily feeding costs of looking after these buns until they do find their forever home. We had 3 dental surgeries a couple of weeks a go & 2 more this week. While we are still looked after cost wise, its not something we ever get back & we could have approx. 8 desexings done for the cost of 3 dentals. We have had some amazing support but if this lack of adoptions continues we will hit the wall financially very soon. It costs us approx. $500 a week just to look after them while we sit for homes. That doesn't include medications, that is just food & cleaning. $10 a week per bunny doesn't sound like a lot, but multiply it by 50 and its a different story.
