23.01.2022 It is with the heaviest of hearts the Lights on the Hill team acknowledge the passing of our Patron and friend Johnny The Ferret Moran O.A.M. At the wishes of John’s loving family, the committee honoured their request to allow them to privately mourn their patriarch before making this announcement public. As a sign of respect to John, the Lights on the Hill Memorial flags have been placed at half mast and will remain so until after his final farewell. ... John and his beloved Margo were an integral part in founding Lights on the Hill, and were present at the first turning of the soil when the wall was built. They have continued to play a pivotal role in both the memorial convoy and memorial service since. We cannot adequately describe the heartbreak we feel at Johns passing, and send our most heartfelt condolences to his beloved Margo, and their family. The Ferret was a true legend of the Transport Industry, and his passing will be felt like a ripple across the country by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. It was an absolute honour to be in John’s presence, and his passion for the transport industry and all within it is second to none. A legend like John will never truly be gone, as his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. To quote his words The spirits of our long lost kin, and the feelings of closeness that abounds, mingle with the swirling mists from across the lake that settle across the hallowed grounds (of the memorial). Memories cast into pieces of bronze of our countries beloved highway heroes who have become the legends of our time. Vale Johnny The Ferret Moran O.A.M LOTH crew

09.01.2022 Can anyone help with a prime mover or two at Coffs Harbour Wed 11th?

09.01.2022 Today more than ever is a reminder to check in and have a conversation with yourself, friends, family and colleagues. R U OK? We need to make a conscious habit of doing this regularly because everyone’s fighting their own battles that we sometimes know nothing about. Be kind to others, be kind to yourself, try and see someone else’s perspective and most importantly, give them a shoulder to lean on. This year, it also coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day ... Remember, #itaintweaktospeak! If you're struggling, please speak up! Speak to someone you trust, and if you're after support options see below. Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 Lifeline: https://www.lifeline.org.au/ call 131114 It’s ok to not be ok!!

03.01.2022 Update: Graham’s family has been found and he was a very loved husband and father. He passed away in 2004 on his way home from work when his ute left the road and hit a tree. We and the family are unsure how the plaque came to be where it was but we now know that Graham is lives and remembered everyday. Thanks to everyone for their help in sharing this original post. LOTH crew We recently received this letter and plaque in the mail and we would appreciate your help to find ...out more information about Graham Nelson. At our last meeting the committee decided that we would have Graham’s plaque placed at the wall in the garden but we would also like to know more about him and thought we would put it out there to anyone who might like to help us find out as much as we can. Someone obviously cared enough about him to have this plaque made, and someone obviously cared enough to send it to us. Hope someone can help. LOTH crew See more
