The headspace Melton Youth Advocacy Group is made up young people aged 16-25 who are passionate about promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in their communities, advocating on youth issues which are important to them, reducing stigma and leading local projects . Some of the duties of the YAG include : Providing feedback on headspace Melton’s services, ensuring they remain youth-friendly and appriopriate as well as responsive to local needs Working closely with our centre’s peer worker to provide input, co-develop and co-facilitate our centre based groups which are run periodically Working with our Community Awareness Officer in developing and delivering health promotion programs, activities, events and initiatives outlined in the annual Community Engagement Work plan Co-developing and co-facilitating mental health workshops which focus on early-intervention for delivery in local schools, youth services, groups and other community settings Attending community events as a young person representative of headspace Melton , promoting our services and help seeking and connecting with other young people in attendance The headspace Melton is open to any young person aged 16-25 who either lives, works, studies, has hobbies or other connections to the City of Melton and its surrounding areas
