14.01.2022 Your values and convictions are a huge part of what makes you, you. You need to decide what convictions you have and build your life around them. Those foundational building blocks will set you up to become the person that you ultimately want to be. But many people, unfortunately, ignore those core beliefs and values when it is convenient for them. Let me tell a story about someone who traded their beliefs for money and how it affected those around him. A young Jewish... boy grew up in Germany many years ago. He greatly admired and loved his father, in part, because of his conviction and dedication to the Jewish faith. They attended synagogue every week, religiously. But when the boy’s family moved, there was no nearby synagogue to attend. Instead, the Lutheran faith was much more prominent in that area. One day, the boy’s father announced that the family would convert to attend church with their communitybecause it would be good for the family business. The boy was angry and felt betrayed. That boy later developed his ideas into a bookthe Communist Manifesto. That boy was Karl Marx. His thinking became the foundation of the communist government. The book examines class struggles and strives to eliminate classes altogether. Although the book has a lot of negative push back today, it is easy to see how society’s pressure on his father could develop Marx’s thinking. I’ve been in a position where I’ve compromised my convictions for convenience. I’m not proud of it, and I don’t share that information lightly. I paid a heavy price for my decisionbut you don’t have to. Make sure that your life is founded on your convictions. I challenge you today to write down the convictions that you live by. I’ll share some of mine: I am absolutely convinced that I am uniquely gifted. I am absolutely convinced that I should prosper. I am absolutely convinced that my business dealings will be successful and prosperous.
