20.01.2022 After 13 years, it is time for a new cooler in the clinic! Changing this filter has always been a test (of patience) for the staff, a rite of initiation, sometimes making or breaking them to the point of tears! NO MORE waking to another day of slow leaks ruining yet another piece of furniture. Lisa failing the water filter test last week prompted her to put her foot down and end this tradition once and for all. And guess what the cat just brought in :) Sooo excited! HAPPY MONDAY!

18.01.2022 ...always always always always choose PROGRESS! Sometimes when I get on the floor to do my exercises, I have to pause and take a deep breath and just "get into it", no matter what the objections are. I often catch myself wondering whether the position I'm doing is correct, if I'm doing it just as Dr Brett taught me. Well...he'd be the first one to tell me not to worry about it! I've come to learn that it really does not matter if you can't get your exercises 100% right...the fact you're doing them matters more than anything else. You're giving your body a chance to start the process, to learn, to activate and get to the place you want it to be. KEEP GOING PEEPS! Lisa x

17.01.2022 Professor Stuart McGill has to be one of the top thinkers in the world when it comes to the spine and low back pain. He's just being named a member of the Order of Canada for his contributions to understanding the biomechanics of the spinal column and the development of rehabilitation programs. His work in research has spanned for more than 40 years and he's never afraid to share brilliant and inspiring concepts, streamlined in a very thought out approach to the spin...e. One of the things that stood out the most for me during last week's seminar was McGill's ability to study athletes in detail and see "what is possible and how far they can go. His wisdom in this skill is second to none and I'm feeling incredibly lucky to have learnt some of his techniques from the man himself and his amazing team. There's some people you walk through life with that impact how you think and see the world - he's definitely left an unforgettable mark in me. See more

08.01.2022 Im really excited to take part in a 4-days workshop with Martina Jezkova and Petr Bitnar, two amazing teachers from the DNS School in Prague (2nd Medical Faculty, Motol Hospital). Well be jumping real deep into how the body works and learn many aspects of the relationship between visceral irritation and muscle function. Heres a bit more technical info for you: the internal organ system and the movement system are functionally connected and continuously influencing each other. Visceral irritation causes a complex of reflex changes called visceral patterns, which are very distinctive for each organ. In clinical practice, one of the most critical aspects of these visceral patterns is the way they influence muscle function. It's all connected!
