11.01.2022 We need a FASHION REVOLUTION. 'On 24 April 2013, 1133 people died in the Rana Plaza catastrophe in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A further 2500 were injured. They were killed while working for familiar fashion brands in one of the many ‘accidents’ that plague the garment industry. 'Fashion Revolution' sees the Rana Plaza disaster as a metaphorical call to arms, and Fashion Revolution Day, to be held annually on the 24th of April, will keep the most vulnerable in the supply chain in the ...public eye. We need it to show the world that change is possible.' #whomademyclothes #fashrev http://fashionrevolution.org//why-do-we-need-a-fashion-re/
09.01.2022 We often have people ask how they can tell if their clothing is made by a company that pays it's workers fairly. We highly recommend 'The Ethical Fashion Guide' by Baptist World Aid, which rates companies on their business practises and ethics. We are excited to see that Baptist World Aid have also launched a Fashion Industry-based magazine, which looks at the main labour issues at each stage of production of your clothing. Check it out here: https://www.baptistworldaid.org.au//be/be-change-magazine/
09.01.2022 "Today, we consume 400 percent more clothing than we did two decades ago. Many of the 40 million world's garment-factory workers make less than $1 a day. Mass-market fashion retailers are outsourcing more than 97 percent of their apparel production to unstable developing countries, where environments--and lives--are being exploited."
