12.01.2022 So you’ve been making some progress developing new healthy eating habits and feeling good about yourself this past week! Meal prepping, packing lunches, doing those healthy swaps, all that good stuff but the weekend is fast approaching. Don’t be so fast to give in to temptation, I wanted to share with you 5 tips to stay consistent on the weekends with your healthy routines.... 1. Create a weekend routine It’s easier to stay on track during the week because you have a routine in place, but on the weekends you probably sleep in and go with the flow. That’s where it falls apart. Your weekend routine doesn’t have to be exactly the same as your weekday routine but make sure it is easy to stick to! 2. Prepare a healthy dessert Find a recipe for a healthy dessert that you love and then make a big batch and portion it out. That way you can just grab a serving when you’re having a craving. It’s also super helpful when there’s tons of treats around, you’ll have your healthier option to fall back on. 3. Pick healthier options when eating out Picking something healthy won’t only help you reach your goals, but help you feel better overall. Plus it’s fun to find healthy restaurants in your area to explore! 4. Be active on the weekend. You may not realise it, but when you sit around and watch Netflix all day you’re a lot more likely to be snacking throughout the day and that adds up unnecessary processed calories. So not only will some exercise (30 minutes a day) burn calories but it will also make you feel motivated and confident so you save yourself from sitting around all day. 5. Be kind to yourself! It’s easy to fall off the bandwagon, life gets in the way. We’ve all been there or are going through it. It’s important not to judge yourself, it’s ok to slip up. Just make sure you realise why you weren’t consistent, pick yourself up and keep going.
