25.01.2022 We recently fitted this Colorado with some new lights which are perfect for the next off road adventure. 24.01.2022 This 79 series ute came in for an ECU remap and NPC clutch. The ecu remap is a great performance upgrade for the engine. On average we see a 30% gain in torque and also have seen improvements in fuel economy. The NPC clutch is a heavy duty upgrade for the Landcruiser, rated to 1300nm of torque. Its a nessecary upgrade as the standard clutches don't have enough clamping force to hold after the remap. #clutch #4wd #4x4 #npc #npcclutch #torque #fueleconomy #landcruiser

21.01.2022 Wear and tear with old automotive electrical components is a common issue. This Commodore came in because it had a faulty alternator regulator. Being an external regulator, it made for an easy diagnosis and quick repair.

19.01.2022 These were just a small handful of crimp terminals that we removed from a dash on a Landcruiser recently. It had an aftermarket alarm installed with power windows and these crimps were used to connect them to the drivers door. Crimp terminals are handy for DIY jobs but can be pretty unreliable for long term accessories and modifications. We replaced these crimps with new wiring and solder joins, which will create a more permanent and reliable connection.

16.01.2022 This Landcruiser came in with a pretty heavy oil leak from the front of the engine. Once we had it stripped for repair, we noticed the problem was not just the seal itself. It turns out that the seal had worn grooves into the crank pulley over time which is not uncommon in 4x4s with high Kms. It can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours to repair depending on the brand as some may require the use of specific tools from the manufacturer.

14.01.2022 As you can see, we always have a variety of vehicles here at Lilydale 4x4 Centre. On the second hoist, we have an old Landcruiser in for a set of diff locks and some minor repairs. In our opinion, diff locks can be one of the most useful mods you can do to your 4wd. If you are thinking about modifying your 4x4, be sure to give us a call. 13.01.2022 This is the intake of a Toyota Prado we had in recently. As you can see, the manifold has a huge amount of carbon build up! This is caused by the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) and EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) systems. When the exhaust soot meets with oil vapour inside the intake, it can form a thick build up of carbon which restricts air flow. 12.01.2022 This 2.7L petrol Hilux is in for turbo installation. This will be a great performance upgrade to help with all the extra weight it's carrying on the rear and should get it driving just like it used to.

07.01.2022 Here you can see us part way through a Enerdrive 200ah lithium battery install on a landcruiser. On the left is a dcdc 40+ charger, to the right is a 3 bank 40amp 240v battery charger. . The lithium allows 80% usage of the battery compared with a standard deep cycle which only allows 50%. It can also handle big current draws up to approx 150amp. For example, it can run a 2600w inverter for microwaves and coffee machines. ... The Enerdrive charger is rated to 50amps of charging current and has a built in solar regulator. The 3 bank charger is perfect for when it's setup at camp for an extended amount of time or if it's in storage. It charges the lithium and cranking battery on seperate circuits, so if the cranking battery is flat it will bulk charge that and float charge the others or vice versa. See more

06.01.2022 This is a custom set up that we recently installed into a Gu Patrol as an alternative to a rear seat. The build included a flase floor to support a solar input to the dcdc charger and 120ah agm deep cycle battery. If the owner ever needs the seat in the future, this set up is also easy to remove and install. 03.01.2022 This 4wd came in for a coolant leak and slipping clutch. We had to remove the gearbox and flywheel to the coolant leak. Don't neglect your cooling system! Coolant mixture helps prevent over heating, freezing and corrosion. Regular maintenance is just as important as doing an oil change!
