25.01.2022 So much fun at the colour run today!

21.01.2022 ART COMPETITION The Book Week Art competition was a huge success with entries submitted from Prep to Grade 10. Students were required to design the cover art for a fictional book titled ‘The Curious Creature verses the Lightening Axe’. All artwork demonstrated a sense of creativity and flair and four were chosen to receive an achievement award. The art can be viewed in a folder in the library until the end of term. Students who would like to collect their originals will be able to do so next week from the office along with a token of thanks. Here is a sample of some of the entries. What talented artists we have at Lilydale!

20.01.2022 It was the Kinder's turn today to participate in their first ever Colour Fun Run. They had so much fun...keen and ready on such a perfect sunny day. They were very lucky to have 5/6C and the Preps come out and cheer them on along with their parents. The Student Leaders again did a magnificent job setting up the course and squirting water, spraying powder and making sure the Kinder's had a fun time. I think they enjoyed it as they asked if they could do this every PE lesson! Dont forget to log in and order all prizes by tomorrow Friday 20th!

13.01.2022 Today was the K-2's turn to participate in their fun athletic afternoon. They were all very excited as they threw the vortex, jumped in the sack race, took on each other in the tug-o-war and sprinted down the track in their 50m race. The ribbons were a big hit! It was a fantastic day and all students enjoyed participating and encouraging each other in all events. The Student Leaders were amazing in their leadership as they ran the events. Thanks to all the students who helped out, parents for attending, and the PE staff for their running of the afternoon.

09.01.2022 Today our 7-10 students participated in the Inter-high Athletics Carnival. We had an awesome day, with great sportsmanship and team work from all. After having to change the team many times due to students pulling out and other reasons, we went with the bare minimum and lucky for us the students offered to fill in for various events all day. We were extremely proud of each and every person who participated today. It was, of course, the last time our Grade 10s represented Lil...ydale and to receive ribbons in both girls and boys events was a great way to end their time with us. We were also lucky enough to have Jaydn Crawford, who was one of our legends of 2019, come and help all day. He was supporting, advising and helping our athletes get in the right mindset to perform each event. Thanks so much Jaydn! Also thanks to Natasha Kolody who gave up her day to run an event for us. We ended up with many ribbons and overall our results were as follows: JUNIOR SHIELD 4th SENIOR SHIELD: 3RD (only 3 points behind) OVERALL: 4TH Thanks to all for a great day! 02.01.2022 Our Ready to Learn Room is ready to go! We are learning about ways to regulate our emotions such as anger, worry and anxiety. We’ve learned about the parts of our brain that control our emotions (with jelly!) and tried strategies like mindfulness, glitter tubes, and lavender-scented stress dough.

02.01.2022 We don't need to tell you how crazy this year has been. You’ll notice that celebrations and activities usually occurring at this time of year will be done diff...erently. Including remembering our COVID-safe behaviours and following Public Health advice. Celebrations and activities will look different from school to school based on its size and the facilities they have available. But please remember the most important thing is keeping each other safe. Whatever your school has planned, please support them as they try to hold these special celebrations safely. #LearnersFirst #TasGovEducation
