20.01.2022 #tadelakt .......we're now up to five attempts to render the bathroom walls in a polished lime render, tinted with natural Ultramarine pigment. It’s becoming an obsession to achieve that marble smooth and shiny finish. Did I mention it is not just the walls but a dome ceiling as well? Major stumbling blocks include the weather.it being cold and the render taking forever to dry and also part of the walls are cob and the other half cement sheeting, both dry at different rates. Timing is of the essence for success. The render has to be dry to touch before being coated with black olive soap and then polished by hand with a small hard stone. Not dry enough and it won’t polish and too dry and it will scratch the surface..but we are determined to get it rightnot perfect mind you.but we have our standards

In accordance with Tasmanian Government requirements, we have developed a Covid-19 Safety Plan for The Cob Barn which includes an enhanced cleaning regime, contactless check-in and a response plan in case of a Covid-19 outbreak......caring for you and our community!
