23.01.2022 Hi everyone we have an interesting story for your Wednesday afternoon! Mala came in after presenting with a lump around her mammory glands that started to invade her lymph nodes. She required an extensive and invasive surgery with Dr Rafael to remove all the affected tissue. Please be warned this video contains footage during a surgical procedure and may not be suitable for all viewers. ... Mala is doing much better already and has had a fantastic recovery!
22.01.2022 BONES This poor old girl Flicka here came into our clinic today as an emergency. She had a chickenbone lodged down her throat. Thanks to Dr Miranda and nurse Liane who helped clear the blockage by using a endoscope, a small tube-like instrument with a camera and small tongs attached. She is now recovering nicely and will be going home to her family. Be careful with bones next time Flicka.
19.01.2022 DOES YOUR PET HAVE A TEDDY? Crinkle here loves his teddy so much that over 8years he has kneaded the furr off him. The term 'kneading' refers to the massage-like pressing of each paw into a soft surface, alternating between left and right paw in a smooth, soothing rhythm. Does your pet have a favourite teddy or toy that they can't live without?

09.01.2022 WELCOME TO LVC ZUCCHINI. Some exciting news!!! We have a new clinic cat here at LVC. We have nicknamed him Zucchini and he's such a smoocher. He's a 12 year old tabby and he's super sweet.... He came to us with a very badly broken leg from a dog attack and his owners decided to surrender him to us. As you can see from his xrays he was in pretty bad shape. Dr Raf and Dr Miranda performed a massive leg surgery with wires and pins. He's such a strong boy and is recovering well. He has still about 3 weeks of bed rest before he is allowed to put weight on his leg and start moving around. He has us all already wrapped around his little paws. We can't wait to share his future adventures with you. #zucchini See more

05.01.2022 Captain Feathersword has found himself being the one in need of a lucky rabbits foot Our very own nurse Emily found her beloved rabbit captain suddenly limping and upon further investigation she found his foot was very swollen and sore. Due to rabbits and other small rodents being a high anaesthetic risk the best course of action was to order some diagnostic imaging with our dental, thats right, dental X-ray machine. By using the dental machine we were able to manipula...te the machine to suit what was comfortable for Captain and avoid distorting his body for the right angle. Dental X-rays provided us with a more detailed and targeted image of what was going on inside Captains foot. Dr Emily was then able to determine what was causing the inflammation. Upon examination Dr Emily found Captains foot was painfully dislocated! Have a look at the images below to see how well Captain did during his xrays and see if you can spot the dislocated bone Captain went home with some pain medication while Dr Emily and Nurse Emily determine the best course of action for this little bunny

02.01.2022 Be aware Do you know someone who has a rabbit and has agapanthus/Lily of the nile in their gardens? Please get them to read this. Captain Feathersword was showing signs of discomfort, grunting and squealing and was becoming aggressive. Dr Emily ran bloods on him to see if anything would show up. His results were normal. By means of elimalination his owner worked out he'd been nibbling on agapanthus. ... Lily toxicity is often seen in domesticated cats and can be life threatening. Ingestion of any part of the lily is toxic and can cause complete kidney failure in only 36-72 hours. If your rabbit or cat shows any of these symptoms please book a consult with your vet. Be mindful of any lily plant in your garden and gifting flowers to people with pets. See more
