25.01.2022 After 5 years of running Lilypad, starting at Naragebup Environment Centre and then at Comet Bay Primary School, l have said my goodbyes to the art and craft club. But I will be starting something new and exciting in the New Year. It has been a wonderful journey for me, watching so many children over the years experience the magic of creating wonderful things. I hope theyll remember the times we spent together and the fun we had, I know I certainly will. Thank you to all the mums and dads who had the foresight to realise that this form of creativity is so beneficial and rewarding to the growth of children. Self expression in this way gives them so much confidence...and shows the individuality of each child. To all you kids out there.....take time to keep drawing..painting..making...and have fun...!! I will see you all again soon. xxx

23.01.2022 I will be exhibiting at The Black and White Exhibition at Rockingham Arts Centre, Kent St Rockingham. Opening night is Friday 15th April 7-30.pm. All are welcome.

22.01.2022 HAVE YOU A BUDDING ARTIST AT HOME ? ART CLASSES FOR 6-12 YEAR OLD CHILDREN. Then come along and join us at LILYPAD ART N CRAFT.............An after school art club held at COMET BAY PRIMARY SCHOOL, SECRET HARBOUR. There are 3 classes...Tuesday 6-8 years...Wednesday 6-12 years and Friday 9-12 years. Classes are held in the main art room from 4pm - 5pm...fees are $13 per hour all art materials included.... We cover a wide range of subjects...painting..drawing..collage..clay..weaving..recycling..printing..sewing..model making.. etc etc something for everyone..!! 22.01.2022 Last week at Lilypad we started the classes by doing some observational drawing....how good are these..? Well done guys, a brilliant way to start the term...

21.01.2022 For the last 2 weeks the students have been working on their music pictures. Firstly creating the background with a collage of torn sheet music which they sponged with cool colours and the following week they drew their chosen instruments and coloured in warm colours . Great efforts guys...well done.!!

21.01.2022 For a bit of fun this week, the students made their own treasure maps,here are just a few of them....very inventive...!!!

20.01.2022 Term 1 of 2015 ......... Held at COMET BAY PRIMARY SCHOOL.......I am now enroling for places that are available at the Tuesday and Friday after school sessions..... 18.01.2022 It has been brought to my notice that people were wondering why I hadn't written on my Lilypad page for many months. In the last post I did write I explained that I was retiring. But I decided to leave the page as it was, for people to be able to see the wondrful art work that the children had done over the 5 years Lilypad was running.

17.01.2022 The first week of term 3 finds the students having fun with elephants ....and even a dinosaur found its way into the jungle clearing...!! Good to see you all back at Lilypad for more fun with art and craft.

16.01.2022 After school art club for children aged 6 years to 12 years. Classes held at COMET BAY PRIMARY SCHOOL SECRET HARBOUR. Classes are held in the main art room from 4pm to 5pm, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday afternoons during term time. Fees are $13 per hour including all art materials. Classes include all aspects of art and craft, with the emphasis on fun. There are places available in the Tuesday class for children aged 6 - 8 years and a limited number of places in the Friday group for children aged 9-12 years. 14.01.2022 Its the last week of term 4 and not long till Christmas.!! The children had fun creating their own mini Christmas trees ....with LOTS of glitter..!!

But I decided to leave the page as it was, for people to be able to see the wondrful art work that the children had done over the 5 years Lilypad was running.

12.01.2022 For the last 2 weeks at Lilypad the children have been creating paintings inspired by Austrian artist, Hundertwasser ( who lived most of his adult life in New Zealand ). He was famous for bold and bright colours in his art work, and was also very well known for his amazing architecture. Google him and be astounded by his sense of colour and shape. The students started by painting 2 sheets, 1 with warm colours and 1 with cool colours, building up texture with patterns with the end of their brush while the paint was still wet. In the 2nd lesson they built up the patterns using texters and gel pens. The finished design was achieved by cutting out shapes from one sheet and sticking to the other to make fabulously bright pictures. Great results guys ...well done. !!

12.01.2022 Lots of fun was had at the end of year Christmas party today, when all 3 classes joined together for some nibbles and games.Thanks to all mums and dads that have supported Lilypad this year, and thanks to all those budding artists for making it fun to teach them.Id like to say a big thank you to Bethany who has been my little helper every Tuesday class, well done Beth youre a star.Thanks also to my grandchildren Thea and Joe who helped during the party. A special thankyou t...o Julie for clearing up while I was saying my goodbuys to the kids at the end of the afternoon, youre a special lady.. it was sad to say goodbuy to Chantell and Harmony after being with me for some time, I know they will still work hard at their art with Nicollett encourageing them as she does...!! But I was very sad to say goodbuy to Kenzie, who has been coming to my classes since she was a 5 year old , now off to senior school after the summer break. it has been a joy to teach you Kenzie, you are very special.and I shall miss you...xx Happy holidays to all of you and hope to see you in the new Year...Lily. 12.01.2022 This week at Lilypad the children have started their diaramas, which will be a 2 week project. They will be modelling clay figures to add to their creations, which Ill show you next week. Caleb brought along a Diarama he made at school over a term, absolutely amazing, such wonderful detail Caleb, well done.

10.01.2022 I just love these abstract city scapes that the students really had fun creating. They used soft pastels and over printed with white acrylic paint using cardboard shapes. Very impressed with what you produced this week guys....very well done..x

06.01.2022 For the last 2 weeks the students have been having fun with Paper Mache, making baskets for their Easter egg hunt at the end of term..!!

06.01.2022 This last week at Lilypad, the students were experimenting with texters and water to create reflections of a city scape. Great work guys...!!

04.01.2022 This week the students did a study of fruit, using water colour pencils. Even the younger students did really well in capturing the fruits shapes and textures. Well done to all of you ....

02.01.2022 Is an after school club for children aged 6-12 years old.It is held in the main art room at COMET BAY PRIMARY SCHOOL which is opposite the staff car park on Miltona Drive Secret Harbour. Classes are held on Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 4pm to 5pm. We do a wide range of arts and crafts including recycling activities. The students had fun in term 1, making 3 life size scarecrows for the school gardens..!! Fees are $13 per hour including all art materials.
