08.01.2022 The Wet season has arrived in the Far North and it’s a great time to plant a fruit tree to establish in your garden. There will be plenty of moisture in the soil to help plants settle in, and nature will take care of some of the watering for you. Our high rainfall events can make it easier to choose a suitable planting site. Most fruit trees need well-drained soil to thrive, so wet, boggy sites are easier to avoid.

We’ve selected a few of our favourite performers that are grown locally and can cope with our tropical climate. Graptoveria (Ghost plants) are hardy varieties that will tolerate our humid wet season. Fat, succulent leaves in shades of greys, blues and ivory, they make ideal plants for miniature gardens.
