They are the producer and leader of the cavalry for the award winning QT Cabaret, the little blob of buttery love, the wailing banshee, keening arrival to stages big, small, and darn right miniscule. Hera A.K.A Gemini, A.K.A That bitch over there, Mixes cabaret, circus and musical theatre into one giant acid breathing chimera of musical whimsy and physical degustation. Winning various awards, they are one of Tasmanias prized queer pigs, her bacon pouring into community spaces, and nurturing the queers with their performative love. They will worm their way into your heart, your head, and even your lounge room (consensually) without even buying you dinner first.

08.01.2022 Our friends at Equality Tasmania and TasPride are looking for Tasmanian queer artists. Two signal boxes in the Hobart CBD have been selected to tell important stories from Tassie LGBTIQ+ history and contemporary life. If you are a queer Tassie artist who wants to paint one of the signal boxes, please submit one previous art work to [email protected] The themes for the first signal box, are the 1925 silent film Jewelled Nights, the first LGBTIQ+ float in Hobart's Xma...s Pageant in 1991, and Hobart Council's apology in 2008 for arrests at Salamanca Market twenty years earlier. The second signal box themes are around pride, celebration of identity and visibility all the themes of a Pride Parade, which has passed by this box's location for many years. They need to see artworks by Thursday Dec 31st. An artist will then be selected for each box and required to submit a design by Jan 31st. Painting of the boxes will occur in February and March. Painters will be paid $400 per signal box and materials will be provided. Contact Equality Tasmania if you require more information.
