16.01.2022 Some nice lookin calves

12.01.2022 We love having visitors to Limekilns Farm but we need to know before you come onto the property. Some time in the past 12hrs some one has come into our property and fed Gloria, our invalid cow. While this may have been well intentioned it would be better to let us know first please. There are a number of reasons that this is important;... Biosecurity - we keep a record of all visitors to our property and where they have travelled from. As well as any information about livestock feed or animals that come onto or leave the farm. This helps us reduce the amount of weed seeds coming onto the property and also manage animal diseases. Safety - we advise all our visitors not to approach any animals on our farm, wether native, feral or our beautiful farm animals. This is for our visitors safety and well being and also our animals welfare. Animal health- Gloria our poor sick cow who is recovering well, is on a highly monitored diet at the moment. We are keeping track of all feed she is consuming, amount, mineral supplements and medications. Just like you shouldn’t sneak food into people in hospital, please don’t bring feed into our animals. Farmer welfare and mental health - just like if some one breaks into your home, knowing some one has been on your farm with out your permission can be unnerving and create anxiety. Many farms are family homes as well as being work places. Farmers have enough to worry about at the moment with out any added stress. So despite how ever well intentioned your motives are, please ask first and we will be happy even grateful to accomodate you. Thanks xx

02.01.2022 limekilnsfarmSuch a privilege to be able to welcome these two families to come stay here this past weekend. Also to have James from @youcamp and Julie and Peter here from @sydneymorningherald We have already booked our delivery of cattlenuts in and they will be arriving this week which certainly takes some of the pressure off. Such a humbling and warming chance to share what we do here with people who cared and were genuinely interested! Very much recommend @youcamp to all ...other farmers out there looking to supplement their farm income and think outside the box. Great article and photos by Julie and Peter https://www.smh.com.au//drought-tourism-not-a-hand-out-but #plate2paddock #youcamp #visitnsw #nswdrought #limekilnsfarm #camping #aglife #farmlife #familyfarm #farmtable #staypositive #thinkoutsidethebox #knowyourfood #getoutforthedrought
