25.01.2022 Linch-pin has been involved in the design of a subsea Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) to be deployed offshore in the Qatar region. This design works has now surpassed 50% completion. This project has been a great opportunity for Linch-pin to demonstrate its design capability and special equipment expertise in the unique area of subsea pipeline repair and replacement.



20.01.2022 Linch-pin has completed the structural in-place analysis of a subsea Gravity Base Structure (GBS) located off the North West coast of Western Australia. The GBS assists the removal of a partially submerged buoy tethered to the GBS with approximately 400 t of net buoyancy. The structural work included the detailed assessment of the structures primary structural members, primary connections and lift points for suitability during offshore removal activities.

17.01.2022 Linch-pin has recently completed a decommissioning cost and scheduling estimation for multiple fields offshore North Western Australia. Linch-pin was engaged by the Client to provide expert decommissioning consultancy services to develop concepts for the removal/abandonment of the subsea facilities including P10, P50 and P90 cost estimates and a detailed schedule for the Concept, Select, Define, Execute and Relinquish phases of the removal/abandonment campaign. The scope incl...uded the RTM, risers, umbilicals, chain, mooring anchors, flowlines, spools, manifolds and umbilical termination assemblies. In addition, Linch-pin provided P10, P50 and P90 cost estimates and a detailed schedule for the plugging and abandonment of all subsea wells. Linch-pins specialist well plugging and abandonment consultancy services specified the governing legislations, standards and guidelines as well as provided the relevant design parameters, technical descriptions and methodologies as part of this work.

11.01.2022 Linch-pin has recently completed the detailed structural analysis and design of a raised platform to support a motion compensated gangway system for use offshore Brunei. In place, this system will allow the safe transfer of personnel from vessel to fixed offshore platforms. The project was completed under budget and on schedule.

08.01.2022 Linch-pin's Specialist Equipment team is celebrating the successful reovery of the East Spar Buoy utilising our purpose built Chain Puller. In addition to the design of the Chain Puller, Linch-pin carried out the recovery analysis of the buoy using OrcaFlex software.



07.01.2022 Linch-pin has been busy analysing the installation of Fiber Optic Cable to an offshore NWS platform. The FOC will be installed via a J-Tube Pull-in and has been extensively analysed using OrcaFlex.

06.01.2022 Linch-pin completes installation review work for the subsea installation of an innovative structure which produces clean energy from ocean waves. Very cool project!
