23.01.2022 How would you pay your bills and so on, if you couldn't work for a few months? Most people think that their super has them covered, however this cover can be quite inadequate. A client of mine has now had 10 weeks off with a broken wrist, has used up all of his sick leave and annual leave, and his super still hasn't paid him anything. Come see me to look at appropriate cover, especially with some massive changes coming to income protection policies over the next few months.

22.01.2022 Most clients I meet for the first time assume that the insurance they have in their super is adequate. Quite often this is far from the truth. It used to at least be relatively inexpensive, but as you can see from the article below, this is no longer the case. Get in touch to review your cover and make sure you and your family are protected. https://www.financialstandard.com.au//hostplus-ups-income-

22.01.2022 I think now, more than ever is a great time to be supporting our local small businesses. If youre after a property manager, please check out Real People Real Estate. These guys know their stuff, and Ive seen their processes and have been very impressed. Give their page a like, they have some really interesting posts, especially for property investors. I recently had a chat to Daniel from Real People Real Estate. We discussed some of the questions Ive been receiving from clients, and also some other issues arising around the current world situation. Check it out.

21.01.2022 A common misconception is that you need to have millions to need a financial planner. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our advice ranges from reviewing your income protection, reviewing your super, advice on an investment plan, through to setting up a comprehensive retirement plan. 18.01.2022 Sitting here reflecting on one of the strangest weeks I can remember. Im sitting in an office that normally has 60 people throughout the building, and more than half the staff are working from home. Its quite eerie. Whats been the weirdest thing about your week this week?

18.01.2022 The first part of any financial plan should start with completing a comprehensive budget. While this sounds boring, whether you want to save for the future, build your wealth, look at a retirement plan, or even when reviewing your income protection, a budget tool should be step 1 of your financial plan. Contact us to discuss further. https://www.moneyandlife.com.au//changing-money-habits-fo/

13.01.2022 We all dream of retiring, but how seriously have you planned for it? A lot of people I meet arent even sure how retirement is going to look, let alone how to plan for it. As a retirement planning expert, come see me to help you put a retirement plan in place. Well help you navigate the complexity around superannuation, taxation and Centrelink rules.

11.01.2022 With all the doom and gloom in the media of late, today I wanted to share a story of an inspirational couple Ive met over the past few weeks. They were referred to me as the husband has been losing his eyesight, and is no longer able to look after the family finances, which hes always done over the years. What Ive found is that despite the husband going through some of the toughest health issues you can imagine, he has managed to remain incredibly positive. He has a heari...ng aid, and is slowly losing his sight. However, rather than focusing on what hes lost, he focuses on what he can still do, through modern technology. He also expressed his gratitude for the love and support around him. Its a timely reminder that even when were going through tough times, lets focus on the positives we have in life. Its yet another example of how even though Im here to advise and guide my clients, I quite often find myself gaining so much more from them. See more

10.01.2022 Shout out to the tradies out there. Have you checked your protection within your super recently? Most people don't realise that the level of cover that they have in their super would be woefully inadequate at claim time. For example, there's a particular super fund that claims to be for tradies, yet won't cover manual trades for income protection. Don't leave this too late, get in touch to review your super and income protection to make sure yourself and your family are protected.

10.01.2022 Weve been a bit quiet lately, as we take in whats going on around the world. However, its business as usual for us, and were here to help with your financial needs. Right now, most of us are looking at a different world, ie working from home, avoiding non essential meetings etc. So this could be a great time to catch up on those tasks we normally avoid. When did you last review your super or your income protection? Having the wrong income protection could prove disastrous to you and your family, and most people have no idea what they are covered for. Get in touch with us to review your situation now. #incomeprotection #peaceofmind #superannuation #financialplanning

09.01.2022 Heres a short article on what financial well-being means. Were all leading such busy lives these days, its easy to put our finances to the back of our minds. However, small changes to our financial habits, can help us achieve our short and long term goals. https://www3.colonialfirststate.com.au//five-ways-to-incre

08.01.2022 Im sure were all sick of hearing the word unprecedented. But it certainly describes the world currently. So much global uncertainty has meant sharemarket volatility, but as this article discusses, your super and other growth assets are a long term investment. If youre feeling uncertain, whether its around your super, or any other financial issues, please get in touch for a chat. https://www.ampcapital.com//olive/2020/april/OI-280420.pdf

02.01.2022 For those of you who saw my chat with Daniel from Real People Real Estate, you would have heard Daniel ask me about the impact of drawing on your super, which was an initiative that the government has put forward to help people during the coronavirus lockdowns. As you can see below, if someone was to take the full $20,000 out this year, it could have a massive impact on your final retirement balance. If you or anyone you know is in a position where they feel they may have to go down this path, please get in touch, and Im happy to run through other options that may be available to you.

02.01.2022 I rang a client of mine today, and he told me I was the first person hed spoken to in a few days. I found this incredibly heartbreaking. For those who live alone, and are unable to visit their loved ones due to needing to social isolate, this would be an incredibly tough time. It was a good reminder for us to look outside ourselves and see who we can keep in contact with through these tough times. Lets all look after each other, and well get through this. If any of you are feeling stressed about your finances, and need to vent, please get in touch. Id be more than happy to have a chat and hopefully work out some ways we can get through the next few months.

01.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone. A rather miserable way to end the week weather wise, but at least Friday footy is back. I was checking a clients account today, and found that their return was 2% for the past 12 months. Not fantastic by any stretch, but reasonably good considering the huge amount of share market volatility weve had this past few months. It was also worth noting that his return over the past 11 years was still nearly 9% despite the recent market turmoil. This sho...ws the value of long term investing, and holding your nerve when markets are volatile. Its worth noting that research shows that having a financial adviser ensures that clients stick with their longer term plans, through periods of uncertainty, and thus end up better off financially. If youre looking for the equivalent of a financial coach to help you take control of your finances, please get in touch and let me know show you how we can help.
