07.01.2022 The Friday Fur Question! The Friday Fur Question! The Friday Fur Question! Isnt Fur a non-essential though? In Australia, we have the great luxury of not needing fur as it just isnt that cold. However ask someone from Northern Europe or the tops of Russia, if they really need their fur! But if we got rid of every product that is not absolutely vital to the survival of Mankind there will not be very much left of our civilisation! Is wearing leather necessary? Is Wine or... Beer necessary? Is travel necessary? What about Netflix, Stan or other streaming services? Wi-Fi? Toilet Paper? Toothbrushes? Facebook? There are lots of puritanical fanatics who can point to something that we dont need! But why are we letting fanatics decide what is a reasonable need? The real luxury products, which we cannot afford today, are the luxury opinions that are based on prejudice and ignorance. These opinions threaten men and women in an industry that not only provides tens of thousands of jobs in trades that produce natural products of high quality for the benefit and pleasure of men and women everywhere, but it is one of the last bastions of real traditional crafts-people, utilising techniques that have lasted since the dawn of time. 04.01.2022 The Friday Fur Question! Q: Why Cant Fur be Replaced by Synthetic Alternatives (Faux Fur)? A: Firstly when has an imitation ever been as good as the real thing? Environmentally speaking however Faux Fur is actually made from petrochemical products, a non-renewable resource, its actually a plastic, a micro plastic, which is now one of the most major environmental concerns in the world. Fur, unlike synthetic fabrics, is a natural product and the processes utilised to create a fur garment does not burden the environment at all. Fur is a constant renewable resource, not only that it can be recycled and restyled many times.
